I got these earrings as a gift for my girl friend. She absolutely loves them. I thought at first they would be small and easily missed, but no, they are a clear from a relatively short distance that they're 20 sided dice.

Not very happy with how these turned out. I had asked if it was possible to avoid having a 1 facing forwards on the dice, as I was hoping to wear them for my wedding and didn't want to wear a critical fail to my wedding. I was assured that wouldn't be the case. The first thing I notice is that the 1 is facing forwards at all times on one of the earrings, the other is a 2. The hole drilled into the dice wasn't smooth, there were plastic shards sticking out of it. It's a shame because they could have been quite beautiful, but unfortunately weren't what I was expecting. And as the hole is drilled sideways through the top, it's not something I can fix to make the numbers face better.

Today's dice jewelry going to new homes. Clearly royal purple is this year's favorite.

About

A Crafty Geek's Studio

I was raised in a creative household, surrounded by my parent's and grandparent's craft collections. I always loved the idea of art that could be used. From handmade blankets to beautiful serving bowls, each handmade piece in the house just had that extra something special to it.

When I graduated from college with a degree in computer graphics, I found I missed that physical connection, and missed the experience of touching my own art. My mother took me on a gallery hopping trip to California for my graduation, and I was inspired to try my hand at jewelry. The idea of combining unusual items with wire work was my fascination, and I experimented with many techniques. I found wire wrapping and viking knit really worked for me.

Then I started to play with combining things I love - my jewelry, and gaming. Now I love hunting for game pieces, be they at yard sales or thrift stores, to find things that will be fun to use in jewelry or other usable, wearable art. I love being a crafty geek, and sharing those creations with the world.
