Thank you! Perfect for the bow ties!!
bow ties rule.
In high school I began collecting vintage neckties to one day gift to my future husband. When I met the piano-playing-motorcycle-riding man that I would marry I first noticed his bow tie- it was on the short list of things that I wanted in a spouse (seriously- this was my list: wears a bow tie, plays an instrument, is passionate about something). A few months after we wed I uncovered the squirreled-away vintage neckties and became dedicated to schooling myself in the art of bow tie making so that I could convert them for Mr. Right.
5 years and thousands of bow ties later, xoelle is run out of my backyard studio in Hawaii.
I make rad bow ties out of second hand materials because I love the idea of turning something that's unloved and has a history into something awesome and new. I use neckties, all manner of clothing, linens, quilts, Scottish kilts, billiard felt, and myriad other materials to make my happy ties. The materials are often small-in-quantity and hard to re-source, so it limits the number of bow ties made from each pattern to usually less than 10.
