Remembering where I got my first creative lesson
we have recently decided to revamp the shop to include more creative outlets.
my grandmother always used to tell me pick a muster and she would make me something. recently feeling creatively stifled, I thought of her and decided to look up what "muster" really meant. German for pattern, BOOM! Inspiration hit, and here we go again!
Originally, my shop was started for the simple fact that I love yarn, and I love to crochet. I began amassing all different colours and types of yarn, that I had to do something about it. There are only so many scarves and cowls one girl can have!
My favourite question I get asked, is when someone says
"where did you get that scarf?! I love it"
it's so flattering to have my work noticed by others, and appreciated.
I work in the healthcare field, dealing a lot with car accident victims and people with chronic illnesses/injuries. It can be very stressful, and I love being able to come home and curl up on my couch or in one of my vintage chairs and just let my hands work while my mind shuts off.
I have considered what it would be like to shear my own sheep and spin and dye my own wool.... although, I do have allergies, so that may not be in my best interest :)
I've been working with yarn for about 21 years now..when my grandmother taught me to crochet, knit and do needlepoint. I find it soothing to crochet something up for someone that will be warm and cozy, and show them that I'm thinking of them.
