Announcement   Featuring hand-painted and kettle-dyed sock yarn, hand-dyed silk scarves, and handwoven items.

Color, texture and happy accidents inspire me. I don't go into the studio with a plan; I play with the dye and let it tell me what it wants to be. Despite the "in the moment" nature of my process, I document each step carefully with photography and written notes, should I happen across a colorway I love so much that it bears repeating. If you see one in the Sold section or in the Gallery on my website that you'd like to own and is not currently offered for sale, please begin a Conversation with me. I'm happy to do custom orders; though I can't guarantee absolutely identical skeins, they'll be nearly so.

This venture began in college. I have a BFA in graphic design, but it was the weaving and silk painting electives that really captured my interest. My fiber journey moved in reverse: instead of learning to knit, then becoming interested in weaving, then dyeing and so on, I first learned to weave, then to dye, then I took up knitting when I realized a floor loom was a far-off future acquisition and the portability of knitting meant I could still create with yarn.

My products come from a smoke-free home, and are isolated in a part of the house away from curious kitty paws and noses. Thus you can be assured that the only scent you'll experience is a slight touch of vinegar from the process of setting the dye (which will wash out eventually), and the only fiber you'll find in the yarn is that which came from the sheep (or alpaca, llama, yak, etc.) of origin.

This is the first time I have ordered from yarndeavors and found it a very pleasant experience. The goods arrived when expected and in perfect condition. Will most definitely deal with yarndeavors again and recommend them to anyone wishing to purchase sock yarn.

Welcome to Yarndeavors! Please read the shop policies thoroughly. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'm really happy you're here!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I accept PayPal for all US and International orders. All credit cards and electronic checks are processed through PayPal, ensuring your data is kept private and secure and is not on file with me.
Shipping
I ship both within the US and Internationally using Flat-Rate Padded Envelopes and Small Boxes. Each item's shipping is based on the assumption that the order contains a single item. Since yarn and scarves are small and light, multiple items will fit in these containers. Therefore I encourage combination orders to save on shipping fees, and will choose the best box to contain your items safely. If all of your items will fit within one box, you will only be charged shipping on the first item (or the item whose size dictates the box size).

Lost orders will be refunded or reshipped at the buyer's request. Undeliverable (return to sender) orders will be canceled and refunded, less the cost of shipping.

Your order is shipped within the next business day, M-F. Orders placed after 5:00 PM EST Friday, on weekends, or on a major US postal holidays will be shipped the following Monday (or Tuesday, when Monday is a postal holiday).

Insurance and/or delivery confirmation is available upon request for an additional fee (based on value of item).

If you require faster service, please contact me to discuss Express Shipping.

DOMESTIC CUSTOMERS:
State tax is not charged on your orders at this time. Please keep careful records of your purchases as per your State's requirements for declaration at tax time.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred. Your phone number is required for inclusion on the Customs Form and will only be used for this purpose or to contact you in case of immediate need.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items may be returned for a refund or exchanged for a similar item at the buyer's expense within 30 days of receiving the item. The purchase price less shipping will be refunded. Items must be in their original condition; once a skein of yarn has been wound into a cake or ball, it is non-returnable.

Custom orders are non-returnable.

Please contact me if you require a return or exchange. It is very important to me that you are thrilled with your purchase, and I will do everything within my power to make that happen.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS:
• Is there a yarn in my shop that you like, but someone else bought it first?

• Did you visit my main website and see a colorway in my Gallery of past projects
that you just love, but it's not currently for sale?

• Is there a colorway that you love, but you'd rather have a weight of yarn
other than fingering/sock (such as worsted or laceweight)?

• Do you run a Sock Club and want a custom colorway for the group?

If so, then please contact me for a custom order. I maintain very detailed documentation of the dye process and can replicate yarn colorways with fairly good accuracy. Just tell me what you want, give me time to dye it (a week for singles, longer for bulk orders), and I'll post it for you to purchase when it's ready.

You'll have three days from the date of my posting the listing to buy it, after which it will be made available for everyone to buy.

Since yarn buying can be impulsive, and custom colorways are a commitment, I grant a three-day "Buyer's Remorse" period after submitting your order, during which you may cancel all or part of the order for a full refund (contact me in this case). After the three-day period up through the date it ships, the order can be canceled, but the down payment is retained. Final payment is due prior to shipping; you will be contacted when your order is ready. Once it ships, it's yours, and the non-refundable policy applies.

**Single Skein Custom Orders**
If it's just one or two skeins of a colorway, there is no down payment required.

**Multiple Skein Custom Orders (Sock Clubs, bulk)**
If you require more than just a skein or two, I require a 50% down payment (non-refundable) at the time of order.

Disclaimer: the hand-painting process is unpredictable; every effort is made to match the original item but some variation may occur as is the nature with hand-painted and hand-dyed items.

This policy applies to yarn only at this time. All handwovens and silk scarves are one-offs.

PHOTOS:
All items are photographed under an OTT light using a digital camera. Uncalibrated monitors may not display true color; however, note that the color in the photograph has been carefully color-corrected to match the physical item and remove color casts inherent in digital photography. It is as true as a computer will allow.
