About

Urban tribal post-apocalyptic crochet and knitting

I started making hats for my family and friends and then just kept going. Soon I was selling at local farmers markets and craft fairs. With Etsy, I get to reach a wider world.

I like to play with color and texture, and like to make bold, chunky pieces that don't look like traditional crochet. I also like to use upcycled materials. Many of my pieces are fuzzy and frayed and very tactile --I like to put the fiber in fiber arts!

I create my own patterns that are more like guidelines, but I let the piece come to life in my hands. I'm always interested to see how it turns out!

I also love to use handspun yarns for their individuality and wonderful textures. Working with them really feels like a collaboration.

I know I need to get more professional models, but I would like to thank my patient friend and my often silly son for their help. I do make my accessories for real people, beautiful at every age, size and color, and I hope you can see yourself in them!

I am also playing with color and texture in a different medium, acrylic monoprints. See them at my print shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/Rabbitsreverie

Born in Texas, I'm now a Baltimorean. I have a fifteen year old son and a big old house full of books and yarn and odd objects all of which inspire me. Everything in my shop I make myself. I also do collage, assemblage, monoprints, and bookarts.

Shop policies

I take pride in my work and want my customers to be happy. If anything about an item is not as you expected or wanted, please let me know. I will make an exchange or an alteration if that's what you want.

My pieces are priced based on both the cost of the material and my time. In general, items made from handspun or other unique fibers will be a bit more expensive.

All of my work is one of a kind because I don't use patterns and I use vintage, handspun, handpainted, and recycled fibers as well as standard commercial ones. So I can make you something similar to a piece I've already made, but it won't be exactly the same. This makes it more fun for me, and hopefully for you, too.

For other countries, I will mail within the same time frame. Delivery times will, of course, differ.

Since you can't try on my work and find the piece that feels the best, I will accept returns for 30 days from receipt in as received condition. You can request either a refund or an exchange. I will refund through PayPal or by money order, according to how you paid.
Additional policies and FAQs
I'm happy to do custom orders. Once I send you a photo of the completed item, you can decide whether or not you you wish to buy it. If you do, you can still exchange or return it as above.

If you are interested in wholesale pricing or consignment of my work, please contact me. I have only a portion of my completed work on Etsy, and I am always working on new pieces.
