5 out of 5 starsThis bear is absolutely adorable! I intended to use it a newborn photo prop, but my four year old daughter fell in love with it and it's now her favorite bedtime snuggle buddy!

5 out of 5 starsEmily went far above and beyond for us by putting the bunny on reserve while we saved up to adopt him. She was personable, understanding and one of the sweetest ladies on Etsy. We look forward to ordering from her soon and highly recommend her stuffed animals if you care about quality and the cleanest possible materials being used to make the toys your little pumpkins will be snuggling with. She is extremely responsive and our bunny was on our doorstep only 3 days after ordering him. If you are thinking about ordering, DO IT! You will not be disappointed and your pumpkin will feel the love that was put into the making of the animal. (I have never seen our daughter as enamoured with a stuffed animal as she was with Toffee.) Nothing compares to a handcrafted toy made by a mama!

Finding Joy
When I started my shop back in 2009, we were in a bit of a Personal Economic Crisis. We had just had a baby so I was searching for something I could do to supplement our income but that wouldn't take me away from home. Designing and knitting toys was something that fell into my lap. Or rather, I looked down in my lap and there was my knitting! I was already creating a menagerie for my daughter - surely other parents were searching for unique, well made, hand made, mindful, organic and sustainable stuffed friends for their children too. I opened my shop a few weeks before Easter with three Classic Bunnies and never looked back.
In times of Personal Economic Crisis (we've all been there), you're forced to make budget choices about what to keep and what you can live without. One of the things I couldn't live without was our financial support of the local humane society. We had fostered with BARC! for years, helping to find forever homes for stray dogs - all the cats seemed to find a home here. Unfortunately, when you've got an income that is suddenly limited, charitable donations tend to be one of the first things cut. I just didn't want to do that. Which is why a portion of every Companion Sale is donated directly to my local animal welfare organization! It works well, don't you think? Stuffed Companion Animals that benefit real live companion animals. Puts a smile on my face. Which is why, even though our rough times have passed, I continue to send a portion of my sales right along to the folks who work hard every day to save lives and put smiles on the faces of the people and the animals they help.

I feed and pick up after eight cats, foster the occasional animal, homeschool one little girl, and look after Michael Ivey. In between I knit.
Shop policies
Yarn Miracle Toys are intended for love and adventure. They are well-made and tightly knit. That said, please use the same common sense you use with any other toy. If an animal starts to show unusual wear, has a scissor related accident or looks like it might otherwise become a hazard: take action to protect your child. You know your child best, and you *are* the grown-up, so that action is your decision. Yarn for mending can be found in the First Aid Kits included with all Companions. If your animal needs help beyond your skill level, I am more than happy to provide immediate care.
Why buy organic and sustainable?
Cotton provides about half of the world's fiber needs. It is also one of the most chemically dependent crops grown today - 16-25% of the world's insecticides, more than any other single major crop, are used in conventional production. Up to 1/4 of a pound of chemicals may be used to produce enough fiber for a single t-shirt. That's hard on the environment, rough for the farm workers and unhealthy for the wearer of the t-shirt. When you choose a Yarn Miracle Cotton Companion or Itty Bitty Buddy made with organically grown cotton, you aren't just buying an adorable, well-made, non-toxic toy for your child to cuddle. When you choose a Yarn Miracle Companion, you are preventing soil erosion, protecting the water supply, improving the lives of farm workers, saving energy and encouraging sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices.
When you choose a Luxury Companion, know that animal welfare is forefront in my mind. The rabbits who produce the angora I use are raised by the woman who spins the fiber. I purchase cashmere from a sustainable U.S. source with animal, predator and planet friendly practices. The eco wool stuffing I use is ecologically and sustainably grown in the U. S. with sheep and predator friendly techniques.
In short, your choice for your child's new best friend can help protect your child's future.
To save trees and energy, printed receipts are not included with orders unless specifically requested at checkout.
A word about CPSIA compliance:
Yarn Miracle has registered as a small batch toymaker (018806-122017) and is therefore exempt from third party ASTM F963 Toy Safety Standards Testing. Yarn Miracle's toys are all made with natural fibers that are also exempt from lead and phthalate testing (dyed or un-dyed, natural fibers don't contain hazardous materials). The toys are as flammable as their materials: cotton burns quickly, wool and cashmere are slow to ignite and may self-extinguish. These toys are created as soft toys. They do not contain plastic, wooden or metal parts of any kind. There are no sharp edges, tiny hazardous bits, batteries or electronics associated with them. There are no tags attached to the toys themselves as it is impractical to attach permanent tags to hand knit stuffed toys without machine-sewn seams. First Aid Kits are marked with the animal's color, fiber content, date of completion, location of completion, contact information and washing instructions. Enclosed business cards also carry contact information. As of December 2012, no models have undergone third-party small parts testing, so they are not listed or advertised as infant toys. Please convo me, email me or visit YarnMiracle.com if you have any questions.
