About

I make stuff into things, because I have to.

I am a fiber artist who finds herself more or less compelled to make things. I knit, spin, weave, and embroider. I also make mixed-media pieces incorporating found objects and ephemera.

I may start with an idea and seek out the materials to realize my vision, or found materials may lead me wherever they might go. Therefore, most of the items in this shop will be one-of-a-kind.

Custom Knitting: I have an extensive library of vintage Christmas stocking patterns, allowing me to hand-knit a replica of your treasured heirloom stocking. If I don't have the pattern, I can also work from a high-resolution .jpg of an existing stocking. See the gallery under "Custom".

I love yarn, thread, and fiber. I've been knitting for 60 years, embroidering longer than that, and picked up spinning, weaving, braiding & felting along the way. My hands are nearly always busy making things, or making things from other things.
