Creator of beautiful things to lighten your life.

I love to make pretty things. All my life I have strived for beauty that lifts up your day. Over the years I have worked with clay, flowers, fabric, yarn, beads & just about any medium I could afford to put my hands on.Back in 1992 Mom & I decided to sell the things we were making. I had already played with selling under the name "Tracey Creations" hoping to get a co-op going called Cottage Creations. We live in a remote area of oklahoma that is down to the US Post Office (opened only 2hrs a day) & our Community Building that opens for social gatherings. Being an artist just fits. We have sold jewelry, flower arrangements, ceramics, girls dresses & a few other things. Through the years I have always bounced back to clay of one form or another. Being home to watch my daughter grow made me try selling further away from home. After my pottery began taking over our booth at shows, we discovered people held onto the business cards but didn't remember "what they had it for". That was the birth of "YeCart Pottery". (I was certainly carting my pottery around.) It is still a part of Tracey Creations just more memorable.
Now I travel more with my son & Scott (his father & my other half) doing more shows. Who would have ever paired off a potter & a wood weapons maker? We guess it was on his mother's mind when we lost her, as we met the following year at the place I had last visited with her. Now we both work from Oklahoma, raising our son & schooling him (due to travel), creating our wears to sell.

Thank you for investigating my pottery. This allows me an oppertunity to reach people outside the small circuit I travel. I love creating & clay allows me a chance to bring something beautiful into your daily life. I make mugs, chalis/goblets, bowls, plates ect. so they can be used not just sit & look pretty. I start by throwing on the wheel with buff stoneware (no grogg) from Texas. Then I handcarve in relief for the design to be felt, rather like a stone carving. The designs I started with were celtic & mythical, due to inquiries I have expanded to blacksmith & animals & rediscovered botanicals reciently. I use mid-range glazes mixed in Tennesee for the nice range I get. They microwave well & should do fine in the dishwasher (I don't have one to test in, but friends have used theirs) Being natural substance there is an occational inclusion that could create a "hot spot", I try to remove these if I find them. It is the same material as regular stoneware "spots" are made of.

I believe people deserve to enjoy beauty. Hold it in their hands & make use of it as well as look at it. By working with clay I am allowed to take a small piece of earth, create something nice that will serve you in this manner. Inquiries are welcome. Thank you again for visiting. Tracey
