Announcement   Welcome to Yellow Cab Vintage, cruising the past to bring you one-of-a-kind vintage treasures- - - farmhouse, industrial, mid century, country and more.
**PLEASE NOTE- My vintage patterns, buttons and supplies are now located in WitnWhimzy! Please visit me there for supplies and inspiration!

I firmly believe that if we all unite in vintage solidarity, we can stamp out matchy-matchy department store furnishings, cheap mass-produced imports, and disposable in-style-for-one-season-only decor. Well, one can dream. :) In the meantime, I'm doing my small part to search out unique timeless treasures and put them up for adoption by new owners, who will give them new life and purpose.
Hey, even the kitschy was better quality back then! So please feel free to browse and hopefully some little item will wag its tail and end up going home with you.

The scenery will change frequently, so please ride often!

Very disappointed...they were all the size of a 50 cent piece....not aware they were that small...when she said miniature she meant it....would request a refund if I could

I'm sorry you were disappointed, but yes, miniature means miniature, and since you didn't ask before buying I assumed you knew they were small. If you had contacted me about the issue I would have issued a full refund for the returned items, but sadly you did not contact me for a resolution. I hope you enjoyed the extra freebie I included.

About

Why Yellow Cab Vintage?

When I first discovered Etsy in 2009, I immediately thought I had discovered a creative outlet that would help me make some extra money. I envisioned my shop WitNWhimzy filled with a mix of shabby chic lovelies, quirky contemporary items and some fun geekery. I made some jewelry and coasters, and listed some of my personal vintage items for sale. Then I sat back and waited for the sales...boy, did I have a lot to learn! My first lesson was that I didn't have the talent and designer's eye for original jewelry creations, and my pieces paled in comparison to the wonderful items I saw in other shops. My second lesson was that I enjoyed selling vintage items more than I enjoyed making original items.

I didn't devote much time to that shop but instead started The Tin Rabbit with my sister. When The Tin Rabbit became established and too complicated for long-distance siblings to handle, I started Yellow Cab Vintage on my own.

I love auctions, and find most of my inventory at estate auctions. My idea of fun is sorting through rows of boxes to unearth overlooked treasures, or sit for hours to outbid others for a unique item. I've never been a fan of hitting yard sales two hours before the advertised time---not my cup of tea. I prefer the challenge and level playing field of an auction!

I don't limit my inventory to specific eras or styles, because what doesn't appeal to one person may be just what another is looking for. I just can't imagine filling a house with mass produced, cheaply made new stuff when there are so many unique vintage items that put a one-of-a-kind stamp on our personal space.

While buying items for Yellow Cab, I fell in love with vintage buttons and sewing patterns. I began listing them in this shop, but my inventory of supplies grew too large for just a couple sections in this shop. Hence, I revamped WitNWhimzy and moved all my buttons and patterns to that shop.

Thank for visiting Yellow Cab Vintage! I love finding unique and well-loved treasures and giving them a new life. Although I lean toward industrial and simple lines, I'm a sucker for anything that whispers "take me home".

Payment
I would appreciate payment within 24 hours of purchase. If there's a problem, please convo me and we'll discuss it. Personal checks and money orders are welcome, and I'll ship the item as soon as the check clears.
See something you like, but waiting for payday? Convo me, and we can work out a reserve.
Shipping
I proudly recycle clean packing materials, so if your treasure arrives swaddled in grocery store bags, it's because they make great protective packing material AND I'm doing my part to go green and keep your shipping costs lower!

I will ship an item within 2 business days of receiving payment. I'll be sure to contact you if something causes a delay.

Smaller items will be shipped First Class mail. Items over 2 pounds will ship Parcel Post unless the cost for Priority is nearly the same. My shipping costs are estimated on long distance, so if you are closer it should be less. I will refund any difference in shipping over $1.00, rounded to the nearest .50. For example, if you pay $10.00 in shipping and the actual cost is $8.30, I'll refund $1.50.

I will happily ship across the pond! If you would like an item shipped internationally, please convo me. I'll calculate shipping cost and revise the listing--no obligation to purchase.

PLEASE NOTE that any custom fees, duties (tariffs), or taxes are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Because every country has different fees, these charges are NOT included in the shipping charges in our listings. Please contact your local customs office to determine what these fees will be before making your purchase. You may also check http://www.dutycalculator.com/ to determine any additional fees.

Insurance is not included in shipping. If you would like insurance, please let me know BEFORE checking out and I'll add that cost and service, and edit the listing reserved for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
Remember, vintage items have a previous life before they arrive at your home. By nature, they will show minor signs of age and imperfections. I always make note of anything additional in my descriptions, so please read them over.

If you are unhappy for any reason, please convo me and we'll work it out! I want to make your experience a pleasant one, because happy customers are return customers!
Additional policies and FAQs
I show the items to the best of my ability, and try to describe and show any flaws or damage. If you have ANY questions, feel free to convo before making a purchase. I will refund the purchase price if I have misrepresented an item, but not for buyer's remorse!
