5 out of 5 starsI love my heart mittens! They are so cute! Very well made. Shipping was fast too. Oh...and I was given a Christmas tree ornament. It was a pair of purple mittens...my favorite color! Thank you. :-) I will definitely buy from Ada again!

5 out of 5 starsI am in LOVE with these mittens! I ordered the same patterns as pictured in the item listing, but I wasn't sure which color combo to use. I left it to Ada's discretion, and they came out perfectly! I was also slightly concerned with fit since I have long fingers, but they fit like a glove...no pun intended :). I absolutely recommend this shop - I'm just disappointed I have to wait until December to give these to my bridesmaids! I'll definitely send pictures - thank you, Ada!

My neighborhood.
Of Woods . . . and Words . . . and Wool
I live in the woods of northern Minnesota, where we wear wool more often than not.
So it really should come as no surprise that my mother taught me to knit when I was five. I still remember the rhyme she used to help me remember how knit each stitch:
In through the window
Round through the back
Out through the window
Off pops Jack
During my childhood, I knit many ill- fitting items for my dolls using only garter stitch. In my teens, I knit Barbara Walker's "Learn to Knit" afghan which is proudly draped over our couch today. Armed with the new knitting techniques I learned from the afghan, I started to make many ill-fitting items for myself.
Although I've been knitting almost every day since I was thirteen, it wasn't until I graduated from college that I really became passionate about creating lovely knit items. (During high school, I tried to force yarn into whatever project I wanted to make, even if it wasn't an appropriate yarn for the project or I didn't have the right needles.) "Enough ugly knit stuff!" I declared. With that declaration I ventured into the land of knit socks, very nicely fitting sweaters, and this Etsy shop.
As an English major and a freelance writer, I've always had a soft spot for whimsy. I love that my knitting provides with an outlet for that whimsy, in the form of owl cup cozies, heart studded mittens, and more.

Owner, Maker, Designer
I've been knitting since childhood and officially cannot watch television without some knitting in my hands. I recently ventured into designing my own knit items. I love combining wool and cuteness to make useful, but fun items.
