Absolutely in love with it! It's flawlessly put together and exactly what I was looking for!

About

Chainmaille = Math + Beauty

I remember being a young boy and always being drawn to anything shiny... to this day, I'll admit the same.
I recall myself, "borrowing" chains from my mom's jewelry box... They were gnarled and knotted - and so delicate a person with little patience could never attempt to untangle the metal mess. I would spend so long (could've been hours) in my room, un-knotting the necklaces just so I could see the chain, unaltered; feel the weight and texture of the chain as I "drizzled" it from one hand, to a mound of links in the palm of my other hand.

Who knows.... but if trying to place what exactly gives me the satisfaction of toiling with tiny metal rings with a couple pairs of pliers; that's my best shot. I never planned on working with jewelry as an adult; I studied pharmacy and (then switched to) advertising in college, thinking I'd be a graphic designer. Though my education has taught my some useful knowledge; I've started on a whole new path with no knowledge but what I have taught myself...

My creation process is haphazard; unless creating a custom-ordered piece. I usually start with a very vague and cloudy idea of the final outcome. Typically, that image is changed several times throughout the creation process; I often end with something I had no intention of making...
The nature of chainmaille and the numerous weaves you can use to make it seemed alluring complex to me. I use several different gauges (thickness) of wire to make the rings; I also use a large variety of ring sizes (diameter) - each in multiple gauges. Changing any of these two aspects while working on a piece can drastically affect the outcome.
After spending hours a day exploring these possibilities, I've come to notice something amazing (to me, anyway). Every weave has its own properties and "behavior"... But two similar chains may move and behave completely differently just by using a slightly thicker or larger ring. "Every chain, therefore, seems to have its own personality. "

What I love most about what I do is simply the smile and gleam in a person's eye when they really appreciate my work. I keep my prices modest and my service attentive because the happiness of my customers really is the top priority in what I do. Having worked with many artistic media and techniques, this intricate process has been the most appealing and comes most naturally to me; I hope to one day make a living doing it.
