WORLD AS HER CANVAS
Art is the expression of inner creativity when seen through eyes of imagination. My life has been an exploration of the the self through photography, art, design, fashion, literature, movement and personal thought. Introspective, reflective, affirmation of the uniquely physical feminine existence.
My pieces reflect the spirited and the romantic. An individual with a deep appreciation of beauty in all of its forms. Possesses a keen eye for aesthetics. Expert in design and function. Educated and cultured. Sensitive and kind. Honest. Fallible. Genuine. Thoughtful. Playful.
MY INSPIRATION
Infinitely vibrant in feel, each piece is inspired by the elements; earth, water, fire and air. Patterns in nature, from the soft curve of a flower petal, to the sunlit sparkle of aquamarine waves in tropical water, are reflected throughout each collection.
As a student and teacher of yoga, the principles behind the practice, the connection of the body, mind and spirit, the focus breath to movement and the celebration of life can often be seen in my designs. The process in which each piece is conceived, developing the combination of colors, texture, light and movement is synonymous with the approach on the mat. Each discipline creates a meditation, creating beauty, harmony, and balance.
AT THE MOMENT
Currently on my table are large, rough cut, raw or chunky hand faceted aquamarine in shades of the sea. These bold stones are perfect coupled with the worn patina of leather and suede. The challenge is to keep the natural, texture of leather balanced with the color and size of stones while keeping the overall style simple and elegant, and the quality on par with fine artisan jewelry.”
"I've always loved the look of leather and have been playing with ways to incorporate it in my designs. These days, the texture of suede in rich colors of saddle tan and mahogany brown has been the inspiration of bohemian style jewelry. Pairing off leather in unlikely combinations like with gold and gemstones keeps pieces organic; jewelry that is feminine and romantic, but not fussy or stuffy."
QUALITY MATTERS
While I work in a variety of materials, my primary focus is in precious and semi precious gemstones and freshwater pearls. My jewelry often features tiny aquamarine beads in the palest clear blue, faceted quartz crystal teardrops. Radiant gems of citrine and amethyst are often paired with rich stones in deep hues of garnet, turquoise and lapis lazuli. Metal work is forged in 14k gold fill or sterling silver fill wire.
Each piece is uniquely designed and meticulously created by hand. Gemstones are selected for color, shape, cut, finish, balance and proportion. No detail is overlooked. Aesthetics, in addition to durability are all considered during the design and creation process.
I do my best to source only high quality precious and semi precious stones, and on occasion, Swarovski crystal or hand crafted Czech glass. All stones and beads are hand selected for every item of jewelry I make. Materials are chosen for durability, strength and aesthetics and are handled with care. Gold and silver items are handcrafted, hand forged, tumbled for strength, polish and shine and hand cleaned before shipping. The care and attention to detail makes every item truly unique.
Since no two stones are exactly alike and each item is crafted individually, every piece is truly an original.

YogaChick Pearl and Stone Artisan Jewelry
Owner, Creator, Designer
My interest in jewelry making came from the need to find, simple, light, wearable, but inspired jewelry that I could still wear during yoga, as well as off the mat.

Care and Keeping of Your Artisan Jewelry:
Wire jewelry is delicate. Please handle with care. Store items in the box or pouch provided with your purchase. Gently clean with a soft bristled brush using soap and warm water. Rinse and gently pat dry. Avoid abrasive polishes and solutions. For a deep clean, studier pieces can be placed in a small cotton, muslin drawstring pouch and washed with machine laundry on the delicate/gentle cycle. Do not machine dry. Avoid any fragile delicate pieces, small chains or items prone to tangling.
What Is the Difference Between Gold Filled, Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver?
Gold filled: Also called rolled-gold, sometimes gold overly. These jewelry items are not actually filled with gold. They are made of a base metal (usually brass or copper) covered by sheets of gold in a mechanical bonding process. Effectively a thick coat of gold: the gold content is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight. Gold-filled is used for top-of-the-line jewelry at a more affordable price. Usually made with 14k gold, it is hard wearing. With reasonable care it will not peel or flake, and should last as long as solid 14k gold jewelry. It is safe for most people with sensitive skin.
Gold Vermeil: Gold Vermeil is sterling silver that has been gold-plated. Most of our vermeil is plated with 22K-24K gold. This is a good combination for those with allergy to normal, plated jewelry items. The difference between vermeil, and gold-filled, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is sterling silver. The gold plating, unlike with gold filled, will wear with time, only to reveal the sterling silver underneath. Gold vermeil is preferable to plating since when the gold surface wears off, the now silver item can be polished, often with a patina of remnant gold.
Sterling Silver: Sterling Silver is a mixture of pure silver and some other metal, usually copper. The resulting alloy gives the silver strength. The standard is at least 92.5% silver. Hence the .925 stamp you see on some sterling silver items.
NOTE: Due to the handmade nature of these items and the natural gemstones used, items may vary slightly from those shown. These differences are part of what makes these pieces special! Please know that the colors and shapes of the stones may vary slightly from stone to stone and may appear slightly different on your computer monitor.
