About yorikoNewYork

Sales 342
On Etsy since 2012

I am Yoriko, an artist living in New York City.
I am the owner of this shop, the illustrator of these prints and cards, designer/maker of these funny linen bibs, and the photographer of all of my products. I am also a painter, a poet (I write poems in Japanese), and a mother to a lovely 9-year-old. Oh, and I am married to this guy who makes monsters; Google “Kaiju Big Battel" if you are curious :)

I love to cook, read (Agatha Christie, Hayao Kawai, and Haruki Murakami are among my favorites), chat with friends over coffee, and though I don’t have enough time lately, I like to crochet and knit, too, in my spare time. My next big knitting challenge is a pair of Latvian mittens!

I am against any wars and nuclear power. I believe in peace and sustainable lifestyle.

I started my Etsy shop because I wanted my art to step outside galleries and museums, and enter people’s everyday lives.

If you find something that connect with your heart in my shop, that is wonderful.

Thanks for stopping by,

• We ship everything via USPS.

• After your order is shipped, it generally will take 2-7 business days until you receive your order within the continental USA, depending on where you live.

• If it is a made-to-order item, it can take up to 2 weeks until the order gets shipped; please see each item's "Ready to ship in" section under "Shipping & Policies" to estimate the date you will receive your order.

• For international orders, please note that the tracking information is only available until your order leaves the U.S. for some countries. After that, it is up to your country's postal service to track the order or not. It may take more than 2 weeks until you receive your order. The shipping time for international orders varies by destinations - and packages can be held at your country's customs for a long time. Please don't ask me how long it will take for your order to arrive - because I have no idea!

• We are NOT responsible for custom tax which might incur in your country for international orders.

• We are not responsible for items lost or stolen in the mail. If you are worried about your package getting lost, we suggest you to choose priority or express mail which comes with insurance.

• Most orders will be shipped in envelopes and bubble-mailers to save the shipping cost.
Additional policies and FAQs

While I take custom orders time to time, please understand that some requests just don't worth it. e.g. Making alternations for a $4 greeting card - that means I am making about $2 after fees with extra work of alternating and creating a special listing. I'd like you to be happy, but I hope you understand I'm only a human with limited time.

[ GIFT ]

• I include a receipt/packing slip with all orders, but if it is a gift, let me know and it will be omitted.

• Products are not gift-wrapped, but fabric products such as bibs and pouches will be wrapped nicely in tissue paper with our shop card and placed in a mailer/box.
