About

Things I found for you.

Young Captive is a vintage shop that focuses on super wearable, basic items that will integrate seamlessly into a contemporary wardrobe. The shop runs on the belief that simple is best, and that the basic clothing items that can be worn time and time again are sometimes the most special.
We are especially devoted to finding and offering pieces made of high quality materials in great condition. You'll find lots of silk, linen, wool and cotton. Everything has been well taken care of - we launder or hand wash each item before we ship out to you.

Sizing details

I try to estimate the size of each item and include it in the listing title and details. Each listing also has measurements taken with the garment lying flat. Use these to compare to a similar item in your own wardrobe and get an idea of how the item might fit you.

Why is Canadian shipping so expensive?

We actually ship our Canadian parcels out of our hometown of Montreal (whereas our US & overseas parcels are brought across the border by a freight forwarder and shipped from upstate NY). The prices you see are estimates by Canada Post. We insist that all parcels have tracking, since lettermail is easily and often lost with no recourse. For a more exact shipping price to your location in Canada, please get in touch! We'll be happy to get a price for you and edit the listing.
