Aqua, mauve, lilac and soft grey beautifully complement the pinks in this delightful mobile. A gorgeous option if you're looking for something pink, but not overwhelmingly so.

Great oaks from tiny acorns grow

Hello! I'm Claire Walker, an artist and crafter living in Cape Town, South Africa.

Younghearts was born of my fascination with old books, my love of colour, and my nostalgia for the innocence and wonder of childhood. I wanted to share the beauty that I found within the dusty, discarded books, bits and bobs I had collected, and so, using re-purposed materials, I began making garlands and mobiles for children - little treasures for little people.

Since I opened my shop, my range has grown, and now includes the hot air balloon range I designed in 2012, and the butterfly mobiles I designed in 2013. My work is continually evolving, and I have some very exciting projects under way.

As Younghearts grows so does the team of women who are helping me with my work: it gives me a great sense of pride that my business is able to help support the livelihood of these women. Eventually I hope to expand my team of enthusiastic and passionate people so that I can focus on designing more unique, whimsical goodies - expressing some of the magic that flies around my head. My aim is to, in my own small way, stimulate and nurture young hearts.

Everything in my shop is hand-made with great care and attention to detail. I am passionate about developing my brand, down to the last detail: that means that I will not compromise on quality (from production, delivery, to after sales service), so you can rest assured that any item you purchase from my shop will be carefully crafted, beautifully packaged, and well worth the price tag.

So, if for whatever reason you are not entirely happy with your purchase please contact me directly, and I will do everything in my power to make your experience with my shop a positive one.

I also have an Etsy shop that sells delightful vintage prints, and I create mixed media works from vintage books.

With every purchase you are helping me to provide for my two young daughters, and to demonstrate to them that yes, you can spend your life doing what you love. I appreciate that more than I could ever express – thank you!

● SOUTH AFRICAN CUSTOMERS ●

South African customers can do an EFT payment by arrangement.
Shipping
I like to make sure that each and every one of my hand-made products is just right, and this takes time. I have a turnaround time of up to 14 days. If the transaction takes place over a weekend, this time is counted from Monday morning.

Shipping from South Africa takes 10 -15 working days minimum. Australian customers should expect a longer wait as parcels go through a strict customs clearance, so please allow about 30 working days.

Please note that orders can be delayed due to circumstances that are entirely beyond my control, and I allow up to 40 working days from shipping to delivery. Please do get in touch with me directly should you be concerned regarding your order.

If you need your order to arrive sooner, there is an option to expedite your shipping. All expedited international parcels are shipped via DHL and take 2-4 working days to reach you.

Shipping within South Africa is done via overnight courier, to your door.

Please remember that shipping around any holiday can be very unpredictable, so it's best to order your items in advance to avoid disappointment.

● DEADLINES ●

Important: If you are working to a deadline please let me know your dates BEFORE purchasing, as I cannot be held responsible for orders that don't reach their destination on time if you didn't factor in the maximum shipping times, plus my turnaround time. I will make every effort to get your order to you in time for your deadline. Please take the time to read my shipping policies carefully before purchasing.

● IMPORTANT NOTE ●

International buyers are responsible for any and all Customs Charges, Taxes & Additional Postal Fees
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not happy with the things you bought, you can return them to me. If they are still in the condition I sent them to you, I'll give you a refund on your purchase, but shipping costs are non-refundable. You will have to cover the return shipping costs yourself.

If an order doesn't arrive within 30 working days of sending, I will re-send a replacement order at my expense, but can only do this once.

● MISSING GOODS ●

If an order doesn't arrive with the buyer within 30 working days of sending (barring extraordinary delays due to postage strikes, extreme weather or political events), I will re-send a replacement, but this will happen one time only. After that, it's unfortunately a loss for both of us.

● RETURNING GOODS ●

If you change your mind about the things you have bought, you can return them within 60 days of your purchase date. If they are still in the condition in which I sent them to you, I'll give you a refund on your purchase, but shipping costs are non-refundable.

NB: Before returning an item, please send an email letting me know what you plan to do.

● DAMAGED GOODS ●

If the item you received is damaged, or somehow unsatisfactory, please get in touch with a photo of what is at issue. Any damaged goods supplied by me will be replaced.

Frequently asked questions

Do you create custom mobiles?

Yes. I can create custom colorways for many of the mobiles. You can select "Custom Colours' from the drop-down menu on most items. Just contact me to discuss if needed, I will do my best to make something that you absolutely love! Custom mobiles are not eligible for discounts or promotions.

How do the mobiles hang?

A metre of fishing line is included with each mobile, so they can be easily hung from a small hook in the ceiling. (Please note that the hook is NOT included with the mobiles, but can be purchased at any hardware store and some supermarkets.)

My mobiles are not toys for children and are intended for decoration only. If you are going to hang one of my mobiles in a child’s room it should be hung well out of arms reach and as the child learns to stand you should adjust the mobile again.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All my products are beautifully packaged and can be given as gifts. I don't include invoices or price tags with my products, so they can be shipped directly to the recipient. If you would like me to add a card, please email me to let me know your wording.

What if my item is lost or damaged in transit?

If your package is damaged please notify me immediately and I will work with you to resolve the issue at no cost to you. Do you accept returns?
