The apprentice watched the master craftsman as he carefully sanded the cedar chest he just finished making. He asked, "Why do you spend so much time on the back of the chest? No one will ever know whether the finish was smooth or not." The craftsman lovingly swept his hand over the chest and muttered, "I will know."

I honestly can't remember a time when I was not creative. Some of my earliest childhood memories are centered around my Dad teaching me to sew clothes for my dolls, and making beads with my Mom with leftover dough and food colors. Used candles meant raw materials for pouring into makeshift molds and little pieces of chalk transformed into stick people with carved faces. I started painting before I learned the alphabet and even today I lose track of time when I hold a paintbrush in hand.

As I grew up and went on to bigger and better things (supposedly), the one constant in my life has always been the love of design and beauty in all its forms. Creativity has been a source of great joy and an escape from the daily grind.

I opened this shop on Etsy in 2009, specifically for my modern jewelry creations. All my handmade jewelry is designed and made by me, one piece at a time, with loving care and attention to detail. I make some items before listing them here, and others are made to order with your specific customizations such as letters, birthstones etc. Over the years I've managed to make a lot of lovely jewelry in my little studio (not having a life helps ;) as does the constant drive to create). Each piece you buy is unique, with its own characteristic touches. Even for popular jewelry designs that I make many times, each piece is made one at a time, so each one will be ever so slightly different. This is not a flaw as much as part of the joy of buying handmade items made by a real person as opposed to a nameless factory. Perfect symmetry is not always the goal... after all we would not have seasons if the earth did not tilt just a bit :).

My style is primarily modern, dainty, feminine and minimalist. I adore pearls, gemstones and crystals, and the stark beauty of designs created in silver, gold, copper and other metals. Love is a constant motif in my creations. Love between moms and babies or children, love between sisters, friends etc. is very special and an important part of our lives. I offer many types of designs using birthstones and initials made with wire or stamped on sterling charms. I love to customize jewelry for my customers. My love of yoga and inspirational messages, and of the beauty of nature, is also evident in my shop. Dainty teardrops, sparkly crystals, glossy pearls, raw gemstones, shiny chains, tiny pendants and delicate wire rings are some of my favorites!

I am happiest when I simply take a piece of wire and maybe some pretty gems and let them transform into whatever form they want to take in my fingers. The world stands still and magic happens :).

Today I am delighted and humbled by the thought that people in all 50 states of this beautiful country, as well as people in many parts of the world, are wearing jewelry that I made. My passion has transformed into a labor of love, and this was all possible because of you, my customers.
