Announcement   I make chainmaille and wire jewelry, "geek chic" items, costume items, geekery (dice bags, hacky sacks, gaming accessories), Victorian and Renaissance items, other accessories and home items.

Chainmaille fascinates me. It's slinky, tactile, touchable. I love making things in bright colors, rainbow colors, and also sterling silver and stainless steel. But my favorite is hypoallergenic niobium.

I also make wire wrapped jewelry, weaving wire and with a lot of trademark loops and swirls. I enjoy using semiprecious stones and crystals, and love learning about the metaphysical properties of each stone -- not just a kind of stone (like quartz), but getting to know each individual one.

I enjoy doing custom work so I am always interested to hear if you have a stone, coin, or other item that is important to you that you would like me to wire wrap in my signature style. I also do chainmail in various colors and materials upon request, so please drop me a line if I can be of help.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you happen to find yourself in little Sparta, Tennessee, you can see my work for sale at Fragrant Mushroom Gallery, 12 W Bockman Way (across from the courthouse). It's got lots of handmade things for sale so if you enjoy hand made drop by!

About

Rockin the Renaissance

I'm a Renfair geek... my family used to help out with the local middle school Renaissance club, and we still go to fairs and also "geek conventions" pretty regularly.

My Christmas present in 2007 was a class at the awesome Appalachian Center for Craft, and I decided on metalsmithing. It was kind of over my head, but I decided that the piece I created would look great on chainmaille, so after the class I set out to learn to do maille. The online maille community is awesome, sharing techniques and tutorials, and everything sort of launched from there; wirework was a natural extension.

I especially enjoy doing custom work. Sometimes a customer will ask me to set a stone or other treasure that they've had lying in a box for ages, so that they can wear it. Those items, invested with all that sentimentality and energy, have been some of my favorites.

Shop policies

We make stuff out of little metal rings. What this means is, if you visit our house, you're likely to step on a little metal ring somewhere, because we're constantly dropping them. One of these days we are going to sweep the floor and make something out of the odd assortment of things we find. Minus the dog hair.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Payment
Payment is expected within a few days of the closing of a sale, otherwise we send out the Armored Teddy Bear Squad to find you. You don't want that. They have pointy things.
Shipping
We ship within two days after receiving payment. We haven't listed any international shipping rates because we're sort of ignorant about shipping internationally. We'll charge you what it costs us, plus packing material fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
You want to send it back?! But.. but... I thought it had finally found a good home.... :(

Refunds are accepted if you're not satisfied with an item, usually for two weeks after you've received it. Your expense on the shipping. We'll refund your money or replace the item. Beyond that.. send a Conversation at me, we'll talk. I'll bring the coffee.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders, yes. We'll do our best, anything you want. If you have a pendant that simply must have chainmaille to go with it, we're your mans. Custom materials, beads, etc., sure thing. We'll try armor. Coif. Bracers. Belts. If you can imagine it, and it's made of little rings, we'll pick them up off the floor and start making it.

Kidding. All kidding aside, we would LOVE to brainstorm your custom item with you and attempt to bring it to reality.
