5 out of 5 starsTook a very very long time to be delivered. Over a month. Seems a little extreme for such a small item. The item itself is great. It was a gift for a friend and she loves it.

About Yurigurumi
From chemistry to crochet.
I guess I can say my crochet journey began when I was living in Germany for 8 months for a university work placement (I studied chemistry). Although I wasn't exactly unaccustomed to the 9 to 5, I wanted to pick up a hobby (besides making travel plans!) to do in the evenings after work. I had previously taught myself how to crochet, but until that time I hadn't ventured much farther than scarves and socks. Thus, I decided to try my hand at amigurumi. Let's just say I was immediately hooked. I started by following free patterns I found on the internet, and soon began writing my own patterns.
I decided to crochet animals because I am inspired by nature, the environment, and the animal kingdom. I love observing different species of animals, and anyone who has been to the zoo or aquarium with me knows that I could easily spend hours watching anything from a fish to a gorilla - observing their behaviours, their physique, and interactions with each other. I'm hoping that by making amigurumi animals and selling them on Etsy, that I can share my love for animals and nature to the world.
So what is Yurigurumi?
I had a lot of trouble picking a name for my Etsy shop. I wanted a name that conveyed not only myself and what I'm selling, but one that also that had room for my shop to expand in terms of what kinds of things I crochet. Amigurumi is the Japanese word for the art of crocheting small stuffed creatures. Yuri is the Japanese word for "lily", which is the English translation of my Chinese name. For me, lilies also convey a sense of nature, beauty and happiness. So that's it. I make small crocheted stuffed creatures inspired by the beauty of nature, in hopes that they will bring happiness to you and your loved ones.

Gift wrapping and packaging
To keep shipping costs low, amigurumis are packaged in a sealable plastic bags, then placed inside a poly mailer to prevent contact with liquids during the delivery process.
Unfortunately gift boxes are not available at this time.
If you would like your amigurumi delivered directly to a gift recipient, please let me know beforehand. I will include a personalized card with the package.
Care instructions
While all my amigurumis are handmade with love and care with durability in mind, they are not recommended for infants, young children, or pets. If accidents happen, spot cleaning is recommended.
What kind of shipping do you use?
Yurigurumi is now using Chit Chats Express for shipping! This means that all orders now include a tracking number, no upgrades needed (with the exception of a select few international locations - please message me if you have any concerns). Generally parcels will be shipped out via Canada Post, USPS First Class or Ascendia International.
Unfortunately, I cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. I sincerely hope this does not happen. Should you have any concerns about where your package is and delivery times, please don't hesitate to contact me and I can try my best to resolve the issue with the post office.
