Gorgeous and unusual translucent chrysoprase stone. Lovely faceting and nicely textured wires. Just what I was looking for! Thank you!

I love, love, love these earrings. I had them made a little shorter which was just perfect for my smaller facial features. I also ordered them because I love color and had a necklace that had various shades of pink and purple beads that I was trying to match. I have had compliments galore, and I appreciate the artist's willingness to work with me. Customer service was superior also.

The ZAARA Happening

Zaara unites artisan craftsmanship with the highest quality hand-selected precious & semi-precious gemstones, pearls, and metals to present an array of fine jewelry. Designed and handcrafted in my home studio, each distinctive piece transforms classic materials into wearable contemporary art.

Inspired by the gems themselves, each design from sketch to completion reflects the shape and color of the selected materials. These elements are combined in unique ways to create a sophisticated final product. My signature statement pieces: cascading clusters of fine gems perched atop exquisite large gemstone briolette, often extend this idea, creating the illusion that the gems are magically floating, held in place by the force of tendril vines.

Zaara translates to beautiful flower, radiance, and light. My collections further connect this influence to my jewelry.

I happened to come into jewelry designing by chance, only to realized I was born for it. I began designing and crafting jewelry in 2008. Although being self taught for two years before turning my passion for jewelry designing into a business, where Z A A R A has launched in 2010, I insisted on being a perfectionist who loves to please myself first so I can eventually bring out the best in my jewelry. I admit perfection is paramount to every piece of my jewelry.

What gemstones & metals do you work with?

Zaara jewelry is crafted from argentium silver, fine silver, 14k gold-filled & high karat gold.

The gemstones used in Zaara designs are of high quality and those that are treated have only permanent, industry standard treatments like heat treatment and irridation. Unless stated as "natural" the pearls used in our designs are cultured, we never use imitation or faux pearls.

Proper gemstone disclosure is very important to us, if you ever have questions about the gemstones used in any Zaara designs, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at zaarajewelry[!at]

What is "Agentium Silver" and how do I care for it?

Argentium silver is sterling silver that is a higher quality than traditional sterling.

Argentium silver is fine silver with a small amount of germanium- rather than copper as traditional sterling silver. The germanium prevents the silver from tarnishing, and is easily cleaned with just soap and water, with very little need for any other upkeep.

What is "Oxidized Silver" and how do I care for it?

All of our oxidized silver jewelry is solid silver which has been "antiqued". This is the same tarnish that forms on silver jewelry if you let it sit for a long time without wearing or polishing it, but we speed up this process and create a uniform dark grey or black finish on the surface. With care this finish will last a long time, but please keep in mind if you use a polishing cloth or chemical cleaner on your oxidized jewelry the dark finish will fade or be removed.

If the finish on your oxidized jewelry is ever accidentally removed please contact us, depending on the construction of your specific piece we may be able to re-oxidize it for you.

Please do not submerge your Zaara jewelry in cleaning solutions. The proper way to polish your jewelry is to buff the metal surfaces with an appropriately treated silver or gold metal cloth. We recommend Merit silver polish (sold at Restoration Hardware, and used by Tiffany), or Sunshine polishing cloths for removing tarnish on silver or gold, and Sunspray organic jewelry cleaner to keep your gems sparkling clean.

Please remember, artisan made jewelry is not the same, as mass produced jewelry you will find in retail chain stores. You are purchasing unique, handmade designs and they require a little extra care and attention. If possible, store your gemstone jewelry away from sunlight will keep them brillant, or in the box you received it in. Care for your precious gemstone jewelry and you will enjoy it for many generations to come.
