5 out of 5 starsThis piece is stunning and incredibly well-crafted!!! Please look at the photos the artist posted of this pendant; truly, the reverse is as beautiful in its elegant simplicity as the obverse is in featuring the textured silver and two nontraditional materials, rubber and plexi, in their bold glory. The' is as gracious and responsive as she is talented. I am a multiple repeat customer of this shop, and the work is exceptional.

5 out of 5 starsI love the combo of sterling and plastic. The ring spans the ring finger and half or quarter of the adjacent fingers, yet it is delicate, not overbearing. The blue color is lovely.

5 out of 5 starsIt's a beautiful piece of jewelry! The rods in the pendant are brighter and more luminous than can be shown in the photos. The silver necklace is very nice too, and is the length that I requested. Shipment was fast for international. Thank you :)

5 out of 5 starsSuperb piece. This is the latest of several custom orders I have placed with The' and she continues to outdo herself. Her mastery of technique and edgy design sensibility are fantastic. She is without peer in the use of alternative materials such as acrylic. I couldn't be more pleased and I cannot recommend her work more highly!

5 out of 5 starsThis fabulous pendant is one of several I have purchased from this artist, and it is every bit as wonderful as each of the others! The' is truly gifted, and is one of the very friendliest and most responsive artists I've dealt with in more than ten years on Etsy! I could not recommend her and her work more highly or heartily.

Mijn werkbank tijdens het werk.
Head, heart and hands
After a career as an instructional designer and manager I started to focus on ‘an old love’: the creative working with metal. I learned the basics of the craft of two very experienced goldsmiths. They taught me the traditional goldsmithing techniques in their workplace. Thereafter I studied at the Academy for Goldsmithing Van Helden. I graduated with a collecion masterpieces. On my website www.zaruw.com you can have a look. And still every day I am learning: there is quite a lot to learn in this field and I love it.
In my studio I apply these techniques in my own designs using contemporary materials as e.g. resins and acrylics. I also enjoy to make use of all kinds of residual materials: beside different metals also leather, glass and ‘found objects’. Always in search of interesting colors, shapes and materials. Meanwhile I have a whole collection to ‘upcycle’.
It is an exciting field: designing jewelry and working with the many specialistic and wonderful tools to finally create a beautiful object that didn’t exist before.
I like diffuse forms, shapes that are more or less ambiguous and leave room for fantasy and imagination .I can enjoy a fine abstract form. But often a piece of work is more fascinating when something unusual, unexpected or witty is added. I give preference to combinations of rigid and curved lines, to unexpected combinations of materials, I like asymmetric forms more than mirrored ones.
Before actually starting the fabrication, I usually create a design to reflect the necessary techniques and working sequence. But during the creative process I often deviate from it also. I love to experiment,to investigate forms and materials and playing with these. This way there is room for my imagination.
And when I am not in my studio I love to work in my (kitchen) garden or you can see me walking with my dog through the countryside I’m living in.
