Life imitating art imitating less is more.

The vast majority of items are my mother's from her golden years modeling during college, and beyond. She was a big thrift-store enthusiast always able to find the wackiest and most elegant styles to pull off regardless of brand or era. In fact, she and my father met because he just had to break it to this gal that her evening dress was apparently from last season - she replied by asking him to dance. Young love, or something like it.

I started wearing her clothing when I was 13 and was dressed head to soles in vintage hand-me-down, shoulder pads and kitten heels, leather jackets and big bow hairclips. But I had a change of heart in 2011 when I decided I wanted to try embracing a life of "less is more" (although my Etsy favorites list would lead you to believe otherwise). So with my mother's consent and blessing, I began selling the vintage goods from my closet and her own when she would ship me items to post, and I began shopping tag sales and thrift stores for items that I knew one of you Etsy shoppers would love for yourself.

My father's family got its start in the fashion industry three generations ago and ended running Oscar de la Renta. If there's one thing we know about vintage - besides spotting a worthy garment - is that sizes on tags mean nothing without measurements. A lot of garments, particularly from the 80s and earlier, were sized and numbered in a way that may not always match up with the numbers of today. In other words, a vintage garment marked size US 4 may not be the size US 4 of today. So please check measurements! This goes for shoes as well. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm an artist, writer and film critic, and work in the film industry in New York after having received my BFA. I'm looking forward to the day when I can finally get ALL of my items up on Etsy - the dresses and skirts and shoes just waiting to be photographed - so that they can all be shipped to new homes. What I'm really looking forward to is the day my store is empty; perhaps then I can restock it with what I accumulate from around the world.

Cheers, and happy shopping!

I received my BFA and moved back to New York, from where I now work in film, as an artist, and a writer & critic. The majority of this vintage is handed down from my mother, and other goods I accumulated via thrift pour vous.
