Announcement   All of the proceeds earned here will go to my nonprofit foundation, A Heart That Comes True. I started the foundation in 2016 in memory of my niece, Elise, who took her own life on December 31, 2015. The foundation aims to help young LGBTQ+ people overcome suicidal thoughts and depression through donations, fundraisers, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and zine workshops.

For transparency, here are some of the places/causes I have made donations to in the last 6 months:
Haiti Projects - to build a maker library
They Call Me Mix
Free Bresha Meadows
Planned Parenthood
Southern Poverty Law Center
Zine Camp for Kids
Youth Table for Olympia Zine Fest
Side-by-Side in Charlottesville
Out of the Darkness Walk
Magic City Acceptance Center
Girls Rock Campaign Boston
Standing Rock
Funeral funds for recent suicides

To find out more about the foundation and the work I do: www.aheartthatcomestrue.com

I also want to say that I stand with you all as an accomplice. I am a white, queer, cis-gendered, sexual assault survivor, bulimia-recovering activist who wholeheartedly believes we can and do make a difference in this world. By using my privilege, I aim to amplify the voices of those who are too often silenced.

Be well.
Stay vigilant.
Stay safe.

In rage, solidarity, and love,
Nyxia

P.S. If you would like a custom button order, please send me a message. I'm always happy to take on new projects.

About

You Matter. Always. <3

I've been creating zines since the 1990's. While the subject matter has evolved over the years my mission has not--to connect with others. Today my zines focus on eating disorder and recovery, sexual assault, feminism, body politics, activism, and various shit from my childhood/teenage years.

In my 'real' life I am Zine Librarian at a small liberal arts college for women. I lead zine workshops and write academic articles and book chapters about the power of zines.

To see me reading Boo'ya Moon earlier in March 2017 at Bluestockings in NYC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hXYfiStOF8

To see my reading at last year's NYC Feminist Zine Fest reading from Issue 1 of Everything.is.Fine: https://youtu.be/NWq82A7FQGY

I am a queer, radical feminist creating zines that address issues important to me such as suicide awareness, sexual assault, consent, body politics, and feminism. (just to name a few). I love tabling at zine fests and meeting zinesters and creators.
