Announcement    At the start of this crazy new decade an epiphany has arrived, this is what I'm supposed to be doing - creating. I no longer daydream about doing something else when I'm working. So, here I am, a maker/creater. Here in this, my second etsy shop, you'll find my niche of jewelry creations. My hope is these pieces will help you feel grounded and connected in this world - connecting you to nature, your faith, your memories. Enjoy browsing.

If you're looking for my off the beading path etsy page - for Fair Trade supplies and jewelry or vintage jewelry and supplies - click here: https://www.offthebeadingpathva.etsy.com For the latest Zoa Mae Designs jewelry, check out our website ZoaMaeDesigns.com. And, for the most up to date info about shows and sales, follow our Facebook or Instagram pages.

Take a look at this first shop too if you're concerned that I have few reviews here. This shop is so new! But I'm not new to selling. Thanks for checking!

What's in a name? Or who is Zoa Mae?

The name was chosen to represent my creative spirit and honor my great grandmothers. Great Grandma Zoa helped nourish that spirit. And she helped raise me, not because my parents weren’t available, but because my mother returned to work right after I was born, and, in that day, there was no daycare.

Grandma was incredibly talented. It was said you couldn’t tell the front of her embroidery from the back. She was the one who put embroidery needles, and crochet needles, in my (and my brother’s) hands. She would tell about rocking me as a baby. I now have that rocking chair and, after reupholstering it, have enjoyed rocking my youngest grandbaby. With Grandma, breakfast was often cherry pie and coffee (mostly milk and sugar). Guess I know where my sweet tooth came from. Grandma lived into her eighties, raising five children and countless grand- and great-grandchildren. She survived WW1, WW2, the depression, the dust bowl, divorce, flu epidemics and so much more. If I, and my creations, are half as resilient as she is, I’ve done a good job.

The ‘Mae?’ Dora Mae was the beginning of a D- Mae or Marie tradition in my family. My daughter is the sixth, and granddaughter is the seventh D. Why does this matter, and why did I use these names? For me it seems if you don’t know where you started, how will you know where you’re going? My family roots are very important to me. Mine is filled with love of creativity and learning. I hope to share that with you.

Please enjoy browsing - I hope these pieces will help you feel grounded and connected in this world - connecting you to nature, your faith, or your memories. In addition to Etsy, you can find Zoa Mae Designs at local craft/art shows and at www.ZoaMaeDesigns.com. Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

Items are individually hand crafted and should be handled with care. As with all hand-crafted jewelry, we recommend removing before swimming or bathing. Most items – plated and sterling – can be easily cleaned with a polishing cloth. Sterling items can be stored in a zip baggie with an anti-tarnish strip to avoid tarnishing.

Wholesale availability

If you are interested in reselling any of our jewelry designs, please convo me for information about our wholesale requirements.

Metal Allergies and Sensitivities

All ear wires are lead and nickel safe. However, if you are very sensitive, ear wires can be replaced with precious metal or niobium findings for a small additional charge. Hand-painted or patinaed items have been sealed or coated to protect from wear. Convo for more information.

Descriptions

While I do my best to describe and show the color of items as accurately as possible, the variation of monitors, lighting, and devices makes this difficult. Additionally, some items are essentially camera shy – they only show their true beauty in person. If you are uncertain of the color, size or description of an item, convo me and we can talk it out. Items are not eligible for return because it is the wrong color or size.

Order Processing/Shipping

Items usually ship within 48 hours of your order. Business days are Monday-Saturday with some exceptions. Delivery depends on postal service, weather, etc. Delivery address accuracy is important to avoid any delays or returns. We do not edit addresses. International addresses must fit USPS formats and length requirements. Note - check shop announcements for updates on any possible delays.

Items are shipped using USPS First Class/USPS First Class International. This is the most accurate and timely from my business end. US items will include tracking to the destination. International packages MAY have tracking to the International Service Center only. Note – we do not add insurance to your package. Please ask for it if you have concerns.

International Orders/Shipping

Eligible Countries: To ensure safe transit of items, I follow the advice of the US Postal Service for a list of current countries. Visit www.usps.com for this current list of countries.

Product Value/Gifts: Customs Disclosure forms must be completed accurately. This includes statements of item value as well as purchase of merchandise. For this reason, I can not mark your purchase as a “gift.”.

VAT / Duty / Customs / Local Postal Fees:
Any VAT, Duty, Customs or local postal processing fees you may incur are the responsibility of the buyer.
