Vegan Yarn Love

Hi loves. I’m Stace, a nonbinary (she/her/they/them) never-not-knitting and occasionally crocheting design enthusiast who lives with my husband in a charming Hudson River valley town in serene upstate NY.

Professionally I’ve been honored to have worked for two well-known yarn artists while living in Brooklyn--knit installation artist Magda Sayeg (founder of Knitta Please) and crochet installation artist Olek (a.k.a. Agata Oleksiak).

In my twenties and thirties I volunteered much of my spare time each week for national animal rights organizations such as Mercy For Animals. Now in my fourties I volunteer much of my spare time each week for national racial justice organizations such as proudly holding the position of Assistant Secretary for Peekskill NAACP Branch #2170.

Craftivism is a lifelong huge passion of mine which led me to create and maintain the subreddit https://reddit.com/r/craftivists.

“A person who has a spontaneous realization or motivation of bodhicitta is called a bodhisattva.” I am a bodhisattva.

YOU are my pattern testers!! Post a pattern’s first Project Page to Ravelry with any/all constructive criticism for any of my designs to earn four complimentary paid patterns of your choice, a second Project Page earns three paid patterns, a third page earns two, and a fourth page earns one. Simply point me to your page once it is ready and let me know which patterns you’d like to receive. That’s it!

As a lifelong nature and animal lover, fibers used are 100% vegan with a preference for plant-based over synthetic including abaca (banana), acrylic (minimally), bamboo, corn, cotton, flax, hemp, linen, lyocell, metallic, microfiber, mint, modal, nylon, pineapple, polyester, ramie, rayon, rose, satin, seacell, soy, and tencel.

Feel free to contact me with any questions that aren't Google-able and I'll typically get back to you within 24 hours.

Love, Stace a.k.a. zonal

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Custom Order requests are accepted by shops that have a blue 'Custom Order' button enabled on their shop page, which I do not.

With few exceptions, Custom Orders are generally not accepted. The fun I have these days is primarily in pattern design itself.

There are many talented crocheters here on Etsy who would be interested in producing your Custom Order physical item for you--even from my pattern designs that you've purchased that you can send to them.

If it is a particularly different/interesting/unique Custom Order idea that I have not done before & that is NOT yet done well by others (for example the great mermaid tail blankets), I'll occasionally consider it.

When in doubt, feel free to ask!

Warmly,
Stace a.k.a. zonal
