Description

This tutorial will take you through all the steps needed to create a beautiful dreamcatcher. If you use the exact materials described then your finished piece will measure 1.75” in diameter. However, feel free to try larger or smaller versions – the steps will be exactly the same but you will obviously need more thread for larger dreamcatchers.

I have used crystal beads and silver feather charms here but you may want to substitute these for natural stones and real feathers for a more authentic look.

Note: For this project, I do assume the reader knows how to correctly open and close jump rings and how to make a simple wrapped loop using pliers. All other techniques are explained in detail with clear, close-up photographs accompanying every step.

Materials:
- At least two continuous loops of memory wire, approximately 1.75 inches (4.5cm) in loop diameter
- 8 feet (244cm) of cotton thread.
- 6.5 inches (17cm) of 26 gauge sterling silver or plated wire
- Two small jump rings (one soldered shut if possible)
- Five small wooden beads (approx. 0.25” or 0.6mm diameter)
- Three bicone crystal beads (approx. 0.25” or 0.6mm diameter)
- Three small silver feather charms

Tools:
- Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- An extra pair of either chain nose or flat nose pliers for opening and closing the jump rings
- Hard/memory wire cutters
- Fine wire cutters
- Needle
- Scissors (not pictured)

All wire gauges are standard AWG (American Wire Gauge).

Once ordered and paid for the tutorial will be available for download. You will be sent an email to the address associated with your Etsy account, with a link to the file. If you no longer use that email address you will still be able to access and download the files from your Purchases or Receipt page.

Note to EU customers - The European Union implemented new rules on value-added tax (VAT) for digital items earlier this year. The rules, which took effect on January 1, 2015, state that VAT on digital items delivered via automatic download will be taxed based on the country where the buyer is located, not where the seller is located. The rules apply to any shop selling digital items that can be automatically downloaded at the time of purchase to buyers in the EU, no matter where the shop is located. To be clear, EU buyers – not Etsy or Etsy sellers – will be paying VAT as part of their total purchase price.
