Osiyo dohitsu? (Hello, how are you?). Let me introduce myself. My name is Sarah, aka the Vegan Hippie Freak and I'm the team Captain. I'm 24 years old and I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (aka Vocational Nurse). I am of Cherokee descent on my mother's side. I am a decendent of the Hall and McCoy families from the Kentucky/West Virginia area. Due to the fact that my direct ancestors hid their heritage and did not appear on the 1924 Baker Roll and the fact that the Eastern Band enrollment is currently only open to people from birth to 3 and 18 to 19, I am not eligible for enrollment. However, I am still proud of my Cherokee blood and take every opportunity to learn about it. I am currently learning the Cherokee language and have visited the Qualla Boundary in NC a couple of times. My plan is to become a midwife and open a practice in Cherokee, NC.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I hope you enjoy being a member of this group. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Have a osda (good) day!

Hello Sarah! Thank you for adding me to the group. As I mentioned in my application, my great grandmother on my father's side was full bloodied Cherokee. I also have Cherokee blood on my mother's side, but farther down the line. I have always been drawn to the Cherokee culture, and would love to learn the language. I have also been to Qualla in Cherokee many times and love it!. I am excited to be a part of this team!!
