Had to create a Twitter account to get the Pinterest going, but items that are pinned to our board can be posted to Twitter, so it's just more exposure.
First, here are the links to both accounts so you can follow them:
Alright, so why do we have Pinterest? Well, if you saw the other thread from a couple days ago you saw that we're going to start having weekly themed boards so we can better advertise our stuff! This is going to be a learning process, but here is how it's going to start:
First, YOU DON'T NEED A PINTEREST ACCOUNT TO PARTICIPATE.
Each week (starting Mondays) we'll have new themed boards. I'll post the week's boards in a thread here. Each day members can respond to the thread with TWO items per day and indicate which boards they would like the items added to. (If we don't get enough response, we might change this so we have fuller boards).
This week's boards will be up for a week and a half since we're starting on a Thursday.
Please no duplicates. If you post more than two a day I'll only post the first two. I'll open another thread where you can post suggestions for future themes. Anyone who is willing to help, let me know!
Lastly, there will be another thread where you can post a link to your pinterest & twitter accounts so I can have the team accounts follow other members.
OK, I think that's it. Comments, discuss, enjoy :-) The other boards will be up in a minute.

Christine, someone was just telling me about using hash marks in front of the pertinent part of our tweets. I think it was VaudevilleGypsy. I've already forgotten exactly how to use them properly. For example, using #right in front of the pertinent part of your tweet will give it more relevant exposure, I think?
Sorry I'm not clear on this. I just haven't had the time to absorb it properly. I'm trying to go on my memory. Not a good idea. Maybe you already know this though, in which case, pardon my interruption! :)

the twitter account is more of a formality - you have to have twitter or facebook to get a pinterest account going
Since we already had a Facebook account I just made a twitter one. All it does is post links and descriptions of what I pin to the board (since I just have to check a box for it to do so). I don't really have time to keep the twitter updated beyond that, but if one of the leaders wants the password I'm happy to pass it on so someone else can update it with other stuff.
And if one of the leaders can post our pinterest page and the stuff about our new themed boards onto our Facebook page that would help get the word out to those who don't check the forums all the time.
