Sometimes hits, views and visits are used interchangeably, but they do not mean the same thing.
Hits = How Idiots Track Success. Hits is a very outdated way to measure web traffic. Ignore hits.
Views = A view is a page view. One person may view a page multiple times, or several people may view a page each one time. Generally, bloggers advertise their total page views because that is how most advertising rates are set.
Visits = A visit (or visitor) is a person. If someone visits your shop 3 times today, they will be counted as 3 visits and 1 unique visit. Generally, I track "unique visits" because I want to understand how many unique people came to my shop.
