I have been tweaking my item photography and would appreciate some constructive feedback.

All of my featured items are in the new style. What do you think?

Thank you so much for doing this!

Hi Catherine,
I am not a photo expert, thats for sure, but I can give you my impression....

First of all, I think your jewelry is beautiful but, I still feel like your photos are not really showing them off. I like how they are taken with perspective but the wood background competes a bit for attention. When I first look at your photos, I notice the wood not the jewelry. In my opinion, a white background would be best and show off the true colors of your jewelry. Brighten up your pictures with a photo editing software so that your jewels sparkle. I would also take them a little closer. From making treasuries, those are usually the kinds of photos I notice.
Anyway, I hope that helps. I know getting your photos just right isn't always easy!!

try an all white background. nothing busy or that will take away from the product. use natural lighting and do close ups and different angles. Liza is right the photos doesn't really capture the beauty of your pieces.

Don't use the wood background. Use something like ur Frost Flower in Blue Necklace kind of background. Certain angle will result in reflection on certain colours like the one with red background. Actually white and transparent beads can still be seen against white background if u zoom in properly.

I actually like the wood background. I think, however, that you need something to break up the visual expanse of wood because the grain on it is somewhat overwhelming. Maybe drape the necklaces over a simple, cool rock? same with the earrings.....prop them up against something. I think it's a good think to have consistency so the focus is on the item, not on a changing background.

Agreed about the wood background. It is over powered your jewelries! Stay with the nice clean background so your items can pop out. If you prefer color background at least go for something that is not too much textures like the wood. Remember to put the focus on your products and not the props or anything else. Good luck!
