Au Revoir, Lebewohl, Goodbye to Geolocator

Hi All,

While Etsy is extending our international branches with the launch of international home pages, we're also streamlining the way our members can search for listings and shops based on location. We announced back in November the launch of local search ( www.etsy.com/teams/7716/announcements/discuss/6689368/ ). We have put time into building and refining this search option because the other features we have to shop locally are built in Flash, a technology that we've been moving away from ( www.etsy.com/storque/article/11970/ ). Local search is better than ever and – while it's not as flashy (get it?) as Geolocator – it is an easy-to-use, reliable way to find items from shops located in a given area.

Today we're retiring Geolocator. Join us in bidding her adieu.

Please leave your questions and comments in this thread:

Lastly, I wanted to use this as a reminder to all shop owners out there to update your location settings in your member profile. This will ensure when members are using the location search, they'll be sure to find your listings. Here's more info about how to set your location: help.etsy.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/67/

Best,
Andrew
