820,000 items in etsy weddings x .20 listing fee is $164,000 in just listing fees correct? So now if etsy is just showing 200 items in the wedding section that's only $40 in listing fees so I think we sellers need to be reimbursed our listing fees...since we aren't being seen
money money moneeeeeeeeeeey!
That's not the category....only a few curated pages.
So should we take our listings out of the wedding category?

I'm moving mine to other categories for the time being.

I have actually been running a pretty successful wedding business, selling on Etsy for the past 3 years, without ever ONCE reading anybody's 'guidelines to being a wedding seller'. I did it by making my products & customer service the best they could be. And the way I got found was by optimizing my listings for search...of course, NONE of that is relevant now, if buyers never get to the REAL Weddings Category to do their searches in the first place.

Grrrr, the more I think about this the more it irritates me. Weddings is big business. I can't believe that Etsy would purposefully do anything to jeopardize sales and I don't think they would have gone to the trouble of creating Etsy Weddings if their true intentions weren't to make it more 'buyer friendly'....

But that's what happens when you design something from the top down...instead starting with the end user and what they need to find what they're looking for.

Personally, I think a HUGE chuck of the problem would be solved initially, if they just put an OBVIOUS link on every page in the new Weddings section that said 'Don't see what you're looking for here? Check out our Search feature to find hundreds of thousands more items!!!' (never mind the questionable nature of the hand-picked items automatically featured on the splash pages, which don't appear to rotate or have anything to do with relevancy - or did these sellers PAY to be featured....if so, I missed the announcement which told how you could sign up for such valuable advertising...).
But admin continues to talk about relevancy do my items need be in the wedding category to have any millionth of a chance of showing up I their new pages?
