Wedding category... What happened?

Joy can you add that to "About the wedding registry"..
Once It's big enough I'm sending them an email letter
I make bouquets. Yet the new "bouquet page" is all ready full of things like jewelry, champagne glasses and reserved listing signs. My products are nothing more than a puff of smoke... but golly Etsy, it sure is pretty. Pretty one sided....

I'm so sorry this is happening to everyone. I sell a lot of wedding items also, and since they tend to be a bit non-traditional, and I don't know if I'll ever be seen again.
Interesting I think I better go and take a look.......
Rose you won't... just like me. I only sell a handful of Wedding items...but some are alternative.
They will go by HOW the photo looks and what they feel is wedding worthy.
Post that in my topic. I'm sending them a link with an email tonight.
I find it looks really nice and fun to shop in. The selection that comes up is relevant. I just which there was more shopping option like a price range, materials ( gold vs sterling ) or gemstones. Ok sorry I only looked at rings, because that's what I sell. but I love the new changes.
huh how is a baby onesie relevant to a handmade gown nelly?
fun to shop in? after 4 pages no more items?

eta oh i see you only looked at rings... while at first glance it seems nice, once u dig deeper its full of problems
I think it looks lovely....but it's just such a tiny selection of the sellers and items available here and to a Bride who is new to Etsy (and most of our sales have been to first time buyers), they may get the impression that the small selection of items featured are all that Etsy has to offer for each sub-category.

I think it would be better to reinstate the wedding category to the way it was and offer the new Etsy Weddings elsewhere on the site as some kind of buyers guide or blog.

Having the wedding category so completely different to the rest of them is confusing, not to mention unfair to the hundreds/thousands of shops that are not featured.

Anita, I'm so sorry. This is terribly disheartening. There are very few commerce venues for brides who want something unusual. Now will we be penalized for not being vanilla enough for featuring? I think my photos are pretty good and work very hard on styling. But it's a bit off center, so I guess I should throw in the Etsy towel when it comes to wedding items now? You would think that they'd want as much potential for revenue as possible, so why bury so many of us?
