DT: This is well said. Our goal at Trunkt was to give sellers the power to choose WHETHER they want to wholesale and WHO they would wholesale to. That goal would remain the same at Etsy. All sellers would retain complete control over the way they sell their products and to whom.

Is it going to be possible for new sellers to become a part of this?
Hey Dev! How's Day 2 at etsy going for you? A lot of people are asking about wanting to join Trunkt and not being able to at this time. I'm not sure, but I would think that since Trunkt was just bought by etsy is it possible that the Trunkt as we knew it will no longer exist but will become somehow folded INTO etsy?

DT: It's going great, thank you! Trunkt is no longer accepting new sellers because it's eventually going to be folded into whatever we do here at Etsy. Nothing is changing for our current members right now but it will.
that's what I thought (my magic ball is working today) so people who can't sign up aren't missing out on anything that the people who are signed up will get. That might be a good message to get out before there are complaints of unfair treatment.
Yay! Glad we didn't scare you off and you decided to come back for day 2 Dev ;)

I am definitely interested. I am not familiar with Trunkt, so forgive me if these issues have already been addressed somewhere or already exist within the program.

1) One of the main concerns I have is that I do not want this to be an "all or nothing" type of feature. For example, I sell mosaics as well as fine art prints. I'd be ok wholesaling the prints, but not the mosaics. I'd love to be able to pick and choose what is included and what isn't.

2) Have the option to set minimum wholesale purchases by dollar amount OR quantity.

3) Have the option to allow customers to mix and match within a category in order to meet the minimum quantities. (For example, one shop may only want to purchase one particular print and has no problem buying the 12 minimum of that one print. Another shop may prefer to order 2 of 6 different prints to meet the 12 minimum.)

4) Each state has their own requirements for accepting a wholesaler, such as requiring either the tax ID # or a copy of their resale permit to have on hand. How will this be addressed?

5) Payment: When is payment expected? Upfront or within a time period after shipping?

On a different tangent, is 8/10/EOM a thing of the past or is it still widely used? If it's still commonly used, then this is something I'd like to see included as an option.

Control over MY business sounds awesome. Even more awesome is more revenue, a different way to sell, and more traffic. I am hoping this change will give that!

If it is the way everyone is explaining it, I'M IN!!
Hi Dev and welcome,

I was thinking of selling one of my product lines to a well known store, but don't know how to really go about it. I spoke to the manager of the store and he said I had to call the corporate office to set that up. I'm not very good at speaking or presentations, is there another way I can go about it?
How will this work for those of us that do not wish to wholesale. As it is I get bombarded from people who want us to sell wholesale to them for an unbelievable 40% off, which would mean that I would be working for free after you factor in the price of the drawers and supplies needed. When we tell them thank you but we are not in the position to do wholesale, they say wants that matter you won't give anything off. It bothers us that people need to keep on asking. With this new market opening up, will we get more people wanting huge discounts?
Welcome aboard! :) Along with the news and mabey bringing wholesale to etsy which sounds great, Dev, you crack me up! :)
