shipping from canada to the US

Does anyone have any tips on shipping larger items from Canada to the US? I have tables I have made that clients want to order, but I have never shipped something this large (48" x 33" x 17") and 80 lbs. Any tips are appreciated! John-Marc.

Hi, John-Marc! Congrats on the order! I have shipped some large items to the US via Canada Post. Relatively expensive but safe. I checked the dimensions and it looks as though it will go as either Expedited or Regular Parcel. I would double-box it (with peanuts or bubblewrap between the boxes), or possibly crate it on the outside. You might want to look at UPS as well. I'd call them for a quote or use their online calculator. Just be sure to really, really protect the table with bubble-wrap and/or peanuts and use sturdy packaging. Hope that helps.
I'm used to large, heavy or large and heavy commercial shipments from Canada being shipped with UPS to the states. Unfortunately, I do not know what the rates are.

Thank you Rebecca and Jessica for your help! I'll look into those tips asap. John-Marc.
Do you have a UPS store near you? My local UPS store offers other carriers than just UPS. They can give quotes from Fedex, DHL etc. Just take an item in and see what they can do.
