Facebook Basic Page Tips
Choose a username for your business page if you haven’t done so already, your page must have at least 25 fans to establish a username. Go to the Face Book link it will walk you through www.facebook.com/username/
Once you have your Facebook Page set up added all your information links to websites etc. It is now time to get creative with a basic Facebook Page design.
Timeline Picture (851x 315 Pixels).
Profile Picture, (180x180 pixels).
Milestone Pictures (843x403 pixels).
I post images all the time and never check the size sometimes it works sometimes it looks cropped. Are you doing a special promotion or created something fabulous, pin it so that it stays at the top of page. Hover over a story and click on the star icon to make it wider, or on the pencil icon to pin it to the top of your Page.
Your Facebook page covers are a fantastic way to display your creativity and personality. It's a great way to show off colors, seasons, and products to make the customer more emotionally involved to your shop.
One of the speakers was so insistent that you have your personal profile picture on your Facebook Page calling it the personal touch if you are not comfortable with that then check out these examples.

Did you know that once someone likes your page 96% never come back to your page. I do that all the time I see a page I like it and never return unless that page is posting the most amazing or awesome information or images.
Share relevant, newsworthy and catchy content to do this you must offer something that will captivate users.
Have a plan for posting whether it is once a week or 3 times a day, get into a routine and get posting. Don’t make it all about your shop, think about news, events, holidays, tell a joke, post a video clip, post a photograph ask questions about your products.
Did you know that mentioning Independance Day on July 4th generated about 90% more engagement than all posts published on that day.
Reward your fans with deals and perks I run a t-shirt giveaway during June and July this lets me test out some of my new designs. During that time I will post my new designs and see what people like. I have also started offering free downloads of my favorite vintage paper scraps that I collect.
Another thing I do is post what movies I am seeing as I am in a Sunday Movie Club
when I do that I post images of the poster or of the actors/characters.
Another tip: If you are posting images to Pinterest pinterest.com/ you can pin straight from your Etsy Shop or have other boards full of fabulous images use that to engage your fans. Hey I just pinned this great sweater come check it out on my Pinterest.
Check out the competition: are some of your fans other Etsy Shops if they are super popular look at what content they are posting.
Give your fans access to exclusive information do you have any behind the scenes images to share or how to tips then this is another tool. You don’t have to giveaway the secret recipe but share the process that is involved.
Reply to users’ comments and “likes” on your status updates.
The more engagement, the more likely your post will make it to their news feeds. I am guilty of this if someone likes my page I forget to pop over to “like” their page and say hello. If it is a person they might have privacy settings but it is worth checking out that “like”.
What Not To Post
Don’t make your Facebook page into an ad for your Etsy Shop by over promoting, by sharing Treasuries and posting what you have sold. You can certainly talk about your shop, and promote limited-time coupons on products, sales, what you are adding to your shop but don’t over do it, don’t add to that 96%
If you have your Facebook Page set up go to the Admin Panel and check out your insights. From there you can see where you likes comes from and how your fans are engaging with you in relation to what you are posting.
What is peaking their interest was it a photo or promotion. Soon you will get a sense of what types of posts your audience appreciates so you can provide more of the same. Getting people to stay tuned to your page depends on using posts effectively.
At this time I would not use Facebook for advertising to get a higher position on your timeline I would focus on engaging your fans. But if anyone has used this feature and it has worked pass it on.
Hope this helps I will be checking back later if anyone has questions.
