Karen, I think one is intended to be about YOU (profile) the other about your shop, creative process, inspiration, etc (about).

I can understand how it might seem redundant to some, I guess - but I like the idea of having two seperate spaces to focus on different things as opposed to cramming everything into my Profile page. Maybe that's just me.

Right

The Profile page is supposed to be about us personally and the About page is supposed to be about our shop and our process. The page titles should make this more clear. Maybe "About This Shop" or something....
There is going to be a huge variety in how sellers use these pages, which seems just fine.
admin -- could you please address my issue in bugs:

It seems that Etsy is unable to save or offer me a preview of all my work on my about page
Shari, this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gypsy, So which is which? Profile page I would guess would be about you??? About would be about your shop??? But yet your profile has no place for a photo, but your About page does. It just seems a bit silly to have both to me. Not many people care about this stuff other than the sellers anyway. I doubt many of my customers ever even read my profile page......so I doubt very much they will pay attention to the About page either. But for those that feel it's so important to their business I'm very happy for you.

I guess I just wish more time were spent on getting other issues and proplems on the site resolved, rather than adding something new like this.
Wow, the ones I've seen look fabulous! This is something thats been asked for for a very long time and I'm excited to get it!!
thanks

Well put.

Remember that no one is saying you have to do this. You can leave your shop and profile just the way you have before. This is just an add-on for those that are interested. We're glad some are!
This is how we can differentiate ourselves from resellers. Its not perfect but its a start.

I think the shop link above the about feature page might need to be a little more prominent, I had to click around a bit to get to the actual shop. Maybe a "Check Out Jennifer's shop Palimpsestic" with the shop name in blue hyper link, or something along those lines.

I agree, I didn't notice that link until I read this and went back and my friend had a "shop website" link which opened her shop in a new page. I don't want to open a new page to go to the same shop I'm already in but "shop website" is sort of more obvious than the shop name in the banner space.
