Direct Checkout question...

Hi! I just completed the process to begin accepting credit card payments for my shop. I didn't see that it required a credit card on file too to begin getting deposits from these type payments until the very last screen when I had already entered everything. Does this mean my money in the account will not be available unless I enter this CC information?
Thanks so much!

it should just pull your CC that you have on file for etsy billing. it did for me. look in your shop payment account, I'll bet its there
I don't remember entering in an additional credit card (etsy already has a credit card on file from when I opened my shop). Could you just use that one? You do need to enter your bank account info to get deposits. I think the credit card info is just to help verify your identity.
Yes, etsy will need your cc info before you can transfer your money from the shop payment account to your bank.

the CC isnt just for identity verification, because when you use direct checkout you are authorizing them to pull from your bank or charge your card, if they have to get money from you for disputes. so, its for that as well as etsy billing
as i understand it. if you need to make a refund and there isn't enough money in your direct checkout account, that refund money will be charged to the credit card you enter for this account.
I see now what happened. The CC I entered when the shop opened has expired :) So basically it just needs to be updated~ Thanks ladies!
