Need help from someone who is Facebook saavy

I recently opened my shop (YAY, I'm so excited to finally be here!) and I was thrilled to see 8 Facebook likes for my shop so I decided to go in and reactivate my FB account (from 4 years ago) and I got 3 more likes within a day (though I'm pretty sure at least one of them was me as I am beyond clueless when it comes to the whole Facebook thing). I deactivated again as I just don't understand how to use Facebook and there was so much garbage on my page from years ago but I would love to know if there's a way to find out who liked me in hopes of maybe getting a better idea of who my audience might be or even if only to say thank you for liking my shop. Can someone help me understand this? Please and thank you :)

I recommend you create a Fan page, so you can keep your etsy/art posting separate from your personal pages.
I'm not sure if you can do much of anything if you deactivated your page. Can you reactivate it? The you can just post on your wall welcoming them-I am not sure you should message them individually, some people think that is a bit spammy.
I agree with Ludmilla! Create your own Fan page! It's easy! With that being said I completely forget how to do that! Sorry but maybe someone else will know! I have a separate fan page from my own FB page but the two are connected for me! Good luck:)
Would a brand new fan page really be effective? I only ask because I am so lost when I get on FB. The personal page I had years ago will remain deactivated. I thought maybe a blog might be more my speed??? Oh man, when did I get old?

I would go the FB route for now. A blog is a lot a work and upkeep and can be somewhat hard to get traffic to.
Creating a Fanpage is easy and once it's done, it will show up as a link on the left side bar of your newsfeed... all you have to do is click on it and then share stuff on there just the same as you would on a personal page. FB automatically recognizes that if you are into your fan page, you are posting as your page, not your personal self.

If you click on the little arrow right in the upper right hand corner and go to the account settings page (or any of the pages there, really) at the very bottom of the page, in the footer, is a link to "create a page" - that's what you want to do if you decide to go that route.

Once it's done, you will see tools to invite your friends to like your fan page, etc. And there are promotion teams here on Etsy (just go into teams and search promotion) that specialize in helping each other gain fans and exposure.
Haaa...you're not old...just a wee bit out of the loop Renee!
A blog is nice but it's a lot of work to keep it up! It takes time to build up your "fan base" but it's totally worth it. I like my Fan page because it's strictly bear stuff and my followers are not necessarily trying to Friend me all the time...they're interested in what I do and when I have something new in my shop! Another reason for my fan page is that I see that everytime I post a new status update, it's noticed by people I don't even know or have in my followers...somehow it makes it's way out there and I get some new fans out of the deal!
I hope someone can help with remembering how to make a fan page. I'll look around and try to figure it out for you...someone help?
Oh good...thanks Candace! Good luck Renee!
Okay so how seriously out of the loop am I if I don't even know what 'newsfeed' is??? I have some serious reading and learning to do. (You know, I don't even own a cell phone...really, I don't!)

But, I'm not going to give up...not at this point! I can do this.

Thank you all for your help and encouragment. And you can definitely count on more 'WTF' posts from me :)
Heee....it's okay Renee! I don't own a cell either...never have! FB has changed a lot but a day or two scrolling around and you'll get the hang of it!
Agreed...don't give up!
