Vintage section?

I don´t understand quite well the working of the vintage section. Is it for selling vintage items, or items which just have a vintage look? I mean, I have a great collection of vintage adidas bag, but I don´t think they fit there... Am I right? Thanks to this great community.

I'm sure it's for actual vintage items.
yes! only authentic vintage items, otherwise the site would get a little cluttered...not to say that your bag isn't awesome, or that buyers on here might like it, but if we open it up to "looks vintage" then i thin it might turn into ebay where the competition to sell true vintage items would be crazy...

so how is vintage defined? the most reasonable definition in the dictionary seems to be one the following neither of which actually defines how old something should be.:

2. Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.
3. Old or outmoded.

I'm confused by the vintage category anyway, but it feels to me like a free-for-all since "vintage" doesn't really have a definition.
There's been a TON of discussion on vintage items on Etsy if you feel like searching the forums.

I sell a few vintage things; they are handmade aprons from the 1950's and '60's.
I always thought the rule of thumb for "vintage" was 20 year time frame?

Yes that true celticgoddessjewelry, as far as my poor english knowledge knows, I think one thing is vintage and another retro. Vintage is the real old stuff from the 50´s 60´s 70´s.... and Retro is an actual recreation of that items.... Am I right or have I problems with my english?
If your addidas bags are vintage they would fit the vintage category well. Plenty of people are into vintage clothes and accessories.

I sell a few vintage items, and some of the things I list in the vintage category, I have made with/from vintage pieces. Recycled, repurposed, reconstructed.
I think the term "vintage" applies to items that are around 25 years or older - with the exception of items that haven't been around as long (like computers or electronic gaming). Then the time frame is probably more like 15 years. "Retro" could apply to anything that is actually vintage, or just looks vintage.

Thanks ayisha, I totally agree with you. Maybe Etsy people should change the name from vintage to retro, or open a new section as well... ; )
