Searching for a Shop Name in Search Bar

I hope I can explain this one without confusing anyone, or myself further.

In the new main search bar, when you start typing a shop name, some names pop up & hang in blue lettering right below the box as an instant result before you even are done typing the name (etsy calls them "automatic suggestions"). Others (mine for instance) do not come up automatically. Even when I am finished typing my own shop name, it still does not come up (again, in the blue lettering that hangs below the search bar). I've tried this with many shops with varying popularity & gotten the same results. Some do, some don't.

Finally, my question. How do I get my name to come up if someone starts typing hardca... into the search bar? Is there something I need to change in my titles, tags, so forth, ie: add my shop name to them all...? Or is it just sheer popularity of each shop, like the number of times someone has searched the search bar for that shop?

If the answer is latter, at what point does a shop "get" to be in this obviously beneficial selection of shops? Is there a magic number of times a shop name is searched before they make the cut of awesomeness?

Thanks & I hope I don't sound bitter or annoyed, I'm really only wondering & clearly have too much time on my hands with this damn slow sales period.

:) Sara

Sara,
I never have really placed too much faith that a drop down had much in the way of a crystal ball as to it's capability to predict what I was going to type.
As does pretty much anything that is trying to guess what I like or might do next. Except freak shows at the side shows in a circus where they married a crystal ball with a seductive brunet in order to capture an entrance fee.
As the results of the search bar are pretty much free I think I agree with your assessment that you have too much time on your hands during these damned slow sales periods.
You don't sound bitter or annoyed, just bored.
And look at me?
I am answering you!

Haha thanks uncljohn :D
mine doesn't either...however every forum or team I am on comes up. This doesn't seem to be something that is necessary for someone searching for my shop to see.
I just tried it and my shop didn't come up - however my forum posts did.....

Did you guys try a few different shop names & see how some come up before you are even finished typing..?
Some come up and some do not come up. I'm not liking this change. So many people have similar shop names and some shop names match product names. Hard to find what you're looking for.
I'm finding it very frustrating too as I want to open a 2nd store and used to be able to search for the name I wanted in the drop down and use the filter to select store name so I am really struggling to see if the names I like are already taken. It's so confusing.
Wow! I tried typing in the complete name of two of my shops and THEY didn't even show up!

Hopefully, if I had clicked "Enter" to really search, they would have taken me to my shop(s)!

Mine only comes up in discussions and teams not m shop, but if I put the whole name in, of course, my shop does come up.
