"So my very feed back is against the rules? In my feedback, Ive got customers who claim my weight loss bracelets were effective, my energy bracelets worked wonders and I've got 23 fertility customers who've reported conception. What do I do about that being there?"

Our feedback policy has not changed. The feedback policy includes this line, "Etsy does not investigate the validity of opinions or statements made in feedback." We do not intend to edit or remove feedback based on this week's prohibited items policy update.

A buyer making a statement in feedback is not the same as a seller placing that buyer's statement into the listing to promote the product.
BTW Lauren,

Thank you for working so diligently to provide us with answers to the questions.
Also, as April asked, what about the mystical rather than healing properties? Like for instance wards off evil, "Amethyst is said to attract justice and protect against trouble" etc. People who regularly wear an amethyst necklaces are said to fascinate others with their personality and charisma. "

... Are these allowed?

I came home last night to find the email from Integrity. This is very frustrating. First of all, I truly understand about making medical claims such as ____ cures arthritis or other such claims. However, I have read this entire thread and it has been said that "soap is just meant to clean". Here is my thought on this...

Maybe store soap is just meant to clean. However, I think this is why many people prefer buying and using soaps and other products that are sold on Etsy vs. store soaps. As a soap maker, I have put a lot of research into learning about the benefits of different natural ingredients that have been used for centuries. If I wanted to make and sell or even use a soap that was just meant to clean then I would make a simple soap with no added ingredients such as certain essential oils or even shea butter for example. I add Shea Butter to some of my products because it is an effective moisturizer. The same with the hundreds of other additives I add to my products. In my opinion, that is what makes these products special.

Not being able to list that Shea Butter is an excellent moisturizer or that Aloe Vera helps heal burns is unfair and will make it very hard to describe why a person would want to use said product.

So now all we can say about a soap is the ingredients and that it lathers, cleans and smells good? Boring!

I guess I will be spending the next few days redoing all my listings to comply with these terms. I am not trying to sound snarky here but I am very frustrated. This new policy is going to affect many people and their livelihood.

I would like to know if it is against the policy to make a page on a blog or website listing all the benefits of all my ingredients and post a link in each listing or even have the link on my about page? Can you please clarify this for me? I do not want to go against the terms here as I value my shop on Etsy!
I got the email....and I thought I was being good! I am always annoyed with "claims"
shame on me I guess.

It all really stems from drs vs. pharms. Even as an aromatherapist or an herbalist you sell a service. you are allowed to give a sample for free, but your "client" pays for your service/knowledge. you can not sell a product under your label as such. Drs can't either.

sad but true...
Ran out to lunch- thanks for the heads up on the arm thing ladies :)
Guess I am going to have to get into the habit of moisturizing myself up all the time. Not a bad habit to have!
@Peggy, you made some really good points and I agree with you 100%.
Does that mean that any lotion that claims to soften skin (aka aleiviate dry skin implid?) is no longer acceptable? What would lotion be FOR then, exactly?
rakubuttons from rakubuttons says

Hmmmmm. Gutter thoughts.

Sorry just a moment of levity.
