Are there any plans to have the Shipping option compatible with label printers? This is my only complaint with the whole process.

Hi Lisa,
I know this is feedback that the shipping team has received. I will certainly continue to pass your comments alongs as well.

Will there ever be a way to choose which listings we want to accept DC on?

Most of my shop - 98% is ready to ship and I would happily take DC on those, but on the other 2% and all my custom requests hold me back from offering it!

Hey Bizzie,

As with all payment methods, DC is a shop-wide setting. Unfortunately, you won't be able to turn it on/off for specific listings. We will be removing holds, so you would be able to take advantage of this feature for your custom listings if your shop is eligible.
Waiting until it ships to get funds is the most annoying thing about DC for me. I tend to get a bunch of bridal orders at once through DC and none through Paypal, and then I have to juggle money around trying to pay for supplies. I would turn DC back on in a heartbeat if I could get my funds before shipping. A 3-day wait sounds awesome compared to 2-3 weeks!
Thanks, Nicole G.

I'll just have to stick with PayPal for the time being! =0)

Hi Tori,
As I mentioned above, we'll be looking to remove these holds for shops with a positive sales history, which means low chargebacks, amongst other things.

I understand the issues with being able to provide this for your type of shop, and thats why we're working on this.

Camilla,

I would be more inclined to offer Direct Checkout if the funds were available for immediate use within Etsy. I like being able to use my payments to cover my Etsy bill and I found the fact that the Direct Checkout funds were unavailable until deposited in my checking account frustrating.

I want to use Direct Checkout, but I find the convenience of my money being immediately available via PayPal much more useful - supplies, Etsy fees, impulse shopping from other sellers... Any information on this front?

Thank you and looking forward to your reply!

i agree with the last comment and that's why i don't use DC. i'm still a relatively young seller on etsy compared to others, but i've been with etsy a year and have a good reputation. i'm just not willing to ship an item before i have received both the item and shipping funds. sorry :) so, it bums me out that i can't participate with the new gift card feature.

another issue that concerns me with DC is the ability to do partial refunds. many orders consist of more than one item, and at least with paypal, i can refund one item from an order if i need to.

Hi Allison,
As I mentioned in the post and in the blog, we're first working on shipping labels being deducted from the Shop Payment Account (your DC funds). After that, we'll work on other fees as well. However, being able to use the funds to buy on Etsy is more complicated. Our intent is not to become a wallet, but simply to move funds from buyers to sellers so that you can keep your books clean and so the entire process is a little more simple. I'll take this feedback away though.

I'll wait until the holds are removed later in the fall. I don't want to enable DC on the possibility that something might change.

If we are not currently using DC then how would we know if we are eligible for exemption from holds? Would it still show up in the SPA or would we have to enable the feature to find out.
I'm among those wedding sellers that take a number of large custom orders that take several weeks to produce, so I can't enable DC again until I know it is going to be practical for my business.

I am wondering how angry some customers are going to be when they go to an Etsy shop and that shop doesn't accept their Etsy gift card. Has anyone considered how this could pose a problem? People are going to think if they have a gift card with the Etsy name on it, that they should be able to use it anywhere on the site.
5th element-- I was easily able to do a partial refund with DC when a customer couldn't get a coupon code to work. It's just as easy as PayPal. You shouldn't worry about that.
