Fighting over Tag Words

Ok....I have been working in my thepickers shop all day and hubby has been trying to help me....when I edit one of the items he listed I noticed in the tag words he did not add the word vintage or jewelry to them....for example....he listed a vintage brooch...in the add a listing section it gives you the options of clicking on vintage....then jewelry...then what the item is like an pair of earrings or rings or whatever....ok if he does this all right then why does he also need to add the words vintage and jewelry down below in the tag words? or does it matter? I am so confused....do I now need to change every listing he has done to make them right.... my sales totally suck in this shop...my jewelry is gorgeous...and the prices are so low I am just about giving them away.

once you have added the answers to those top questions they make the first three tags. you do not have to add the same words again as tags.
Patty, I'd give anything to have the sales that you have!!!!!

Love your shop!!
I add them in the title and tags if I can fit it.
They don't need to be added as tags. The selected categories and subcategories should already appear as tags.

Thank you so much...my sales have really slacked off
Thank goodness as I have spent hours already today and have only gotten through the first 3 pages of chaging things....what about my titles do I need to change them too?
You can leave them, as single words, out of tags. Of course you added the multi-word tags of "vintage earrings", "rhinestone earrings" or whatever?

But for Google they should be in your title, and the phrase should make sense, and be echoed in your tags (which you probably already do). just saying.
I am very confused about my titles...I have changed some of them but I am not even really sure about what I am suppose to be doing with them. ..everything I have read on the forums just confuse me even more... I was told to just make my title simple and direct to just what the item actually is and leave out words like genuine, beautiful, large. reduced price etc....for example if I have a pair of black glass earrings....just put in my title black glass earrings instead of vintage black jet earrings or vintage black faceted jet earrings?

=== and that's very true. People don't search on those words, and to see them in title after title -- they have become meaningless. But it's always helpful to think about what a buyer would be wanting them for...not a use, but a place, aaaan impression, a thought, a style. If those are things people might search for, then that's good in your titles.
