Can I sell item painted by me but not made by me?

Hello!
I recently purchased a gently used purse and painted my own designs on it. Is this something that is even allowed to be sold on Etsy? And if so, how do I go about the categories when I am listing this item? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

yes, you can sell it
this is in the DOs and DON"Ts:
On Etsy, the term "handmade" can additionally be interpreted as "hand-assembled" or "hand-altered."
Simply tailoring, restoring or repairing an item is not considered handmade.
To be considered handmade, the seller must substantially alter the design of an item produced from a "ready to assemble" kit.
Upcycled, reconstructed or significantly altered vintage items are considered handmade. These items should be listed as handmade, not in the Vintage category.

So I would list it in handmade
Thank you so much, that is very helpful.
Yes, perfectly legit.

Just be honest in your listing that it is a gently used pre-owned purse that you have altered.

Tagging would depend on the style but make sure to use phrases that people would search for.

Good luck!
Thank you Lisa!
