Etsy vs Craft Fairs

Show Thread Summary

Crochetgal...I would love to know more about how you choose what you sell at fairs. How is the market different. Smaller items..mix of items and costs? Thank you :) Sarah
I enjoy craft shows. Its fun to interect with customers and let them meet the artist. Slaes are aboutthe same for the shop and craft shows. Each year, people come back to see what's new and I have gained a following locally.
In-person events.

I'm much better at giving away the steak and selling the 'sizzle'.
I was successful at craft fairs for over 30 years.

Now I'm very happy to be just as successful online.

Online sales are much easier on my body but I do miss the face to face interaction with customers.

If I were younger, I would do both!

I worry about going to shows since so much of my stuff is breakable. I am strongly thinking about having in-home parties showcasing samples instead though. Has anyone tried selling at home parties?
I don't want to start an MLM or anything...hahaha...I just would love to do face to face selling without the craziness (and price) of a fair/show.
I like selling online, but if the right craft fair is scheduled in my area, I will consider it.
