Original Post

Hi! I'm new to this team, and have been learning a lot just by reading past threads. I'm going to be doing a craft fair in a little over a week, and was wondering whether anyone has done the Strawberry Festival at Peddler's Village (in Bucks County, PA), and has any advice for this particular show. It will be my first outside, large show. I've done a couple of indoor holiday craft shows around Christmas, but nothing this big, and nothing outside. I'd also like to meet up with other Etsians if any of you are also going to be at this fair.

OK, outside, you'll need a good sturdy tent and some weights for it, in case it gets windy.

check out crochetgal's booth

it's a great example of some weights made of pvc pipe and concrete, just one of many ways to weight down your tent.

also, be ready for any possibility in your booth, sometimes there's an obstruction in your booth, I've recently seen one pic where someone had a fire hydrant in their space, and I myself have had half of the front of my booth blocked by a bench. Sometimes you can use these to your advantage.

this thread shows a lot of outdoor setups

but show specific, I have no idea.

but a google search brought up this page

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucks_County,_Pennsylvania

looks like a well populated county, with a decent income, and there's an interesting section about several artists there.

good luck :)

I love the concrete filled pvc pipe idea!!! And, if something does go wrong - I'll just think to myself, "at least I don't have a fire hydrant in my booth, this (what ever it is) isn't so bad".

:) the chick who had that was able to set up so that you couldn't even see the fire hydrant

good luck
