Hi all, it is with great pleasure that I tell you Etsy is beginning to police the new wave of treasuries appearing on the first page with super high views and few comments, clicks or hearts to back up these views.
As of this afternoon Etsy officially began deleting these treasuries. I don't know all the details, but I believe they are being handled on a case by case basis...meaning if you see one that is suspicious and report it they will investigate and delete if they believe the views are being falsely generated.
Thank you Etsy! You listened. Views = sales...real views that is.

elizabeth - i'm new to the team today - yea! and new to the whole teasury specific world - i've made them but never thought that much about 'using' them to any effect - but i saw this post and wondered what you meant by falsely generated views? do you know how this is being done? sorry if this is an obvious thing to treasury pros :) - but i've honestly never heard of false views.
thanks in advance

Hi Heidi, first welcome to the team, we are so happy to have you!
Etsy is kind enough to provide us with this great venue to promote our items. When you have an item in a treasury that hits the first or even better the " front page" you usually receive numerous views for that item. Some people were perhaps using some sort of technology to generate false views, meaning few people were really seeing the treasury. Because this is such an important marketing tool, it was really disappointing to see that happening. It does seem that Etsy has resolved part of it :)
Hope that helps. I look forward to seeing your treasuries :)
