Hey I hear there's some Etsians out there that have always wanted to try their hand at bonsai, and would like some sort of mini bonsai kit. Well, look no further as I've got EXACTLY what you're looking for.
This kit is for locations with restrictions on shipping soil and cannot order my 'Bag of Dirt'. If you want to include some dirt, let me know and we'll work it out, or just order my BAG OF DIRT! :)
Included in this kit is a sandwich baggie full of volcanic rock, a pair of Chinese bonsai scissors, two rolls of aluminum wire, and some screen.
I don't exactly know how much volcanic rock is included. I'd say about a pound of 1\/8 inch scoria. I use this as a dressing for the tops of my bonsai and as a soil additive.
The two rolls of wire are two different gauges. About 12 feet of thin aluminum wire and about 6 feet of thick aluminum wire.
The screen is 14 pieces of pre-cut plastic screen. Some of you crafters out there will recognize this as the same stuff that is used for embroidery. I find that this stuff is PERFECT for screening holes on the bottom of bonsai pots.
I don't really sell tools, per se. These bonsai scissors are actually from my local Oriental Supermarket. I understand that not everyone has a local Orient Supermarket, so I'm including these. They're very nice bonsai scissors but I would not recommend using these to practice your mad ninja scissor throwing skills (though they *DO* fly true and will stick your ninja throwing board enough to send ole Grasshopper hopping!).
Also included in this kit is your choice of TWO (2) 'mudmen'. That's those cool little clay things that put the SIGH in your bonsai! Choose from FISHERMAN! PANDA! FROG! SHRINE! GOLD BUDDHA! (not really gold, but a cheap, but cute little gold buddha). No, Chia dude is not included.
This particular Bonsai Kit is a special request, so I'm including my own personal copy of Harry Tomlinson's 'Bonsai 101 Essential Tips'
If you want to make your own bonsai soil, here is my recipe:

RECIPE for Bonsai soil:
Mix equal parts:
cheap potting soil
cheap kitty litter (non clumping type, with no perfumes)
chicken scratch or sharp sand

NOTE: Use potting soil with NO added fertilizers. Use the really cheap kitty litter, NOT THE CLUMPING TYPE! The cheap kitty litter is practically the same stuff as the expensive fired clay particles. Use chicken scratch, if possible, as it has added vitamins and calcium.
