This is a Special Edition ring, trinket box features a realy butterfly with stunning blue and orange accents.

The wood box measures 2" in height (with the hindged top) and is 2 3\/4" x 2 3\/4" Square. I have sanded and stained this box with a light pecan stain to enhance the beauty of the butterfly.

The small art piece under the glass top features a branch with leaves I have inked and collaged onto Aqua blue cardstock along with a real butterfly.
The base of the box is papered so it is soft and gentle on your furniture and the inside lid and bottom are papered with matching aqua blue print cardstock.

This box would be perfect for rings, stud earrings, or as a special gift box.

Art for Conservation, I use real butterfly wings and butterflies to create these pieces. Please read below on how and why I obtain the preserved butterflies and how I try to help conservation.
The Butterflies used to create these pieces are bred on farms all over the globe including in the countries of southeast Asia, the south pacific, south and Central America. The rearing of these specimens for education, art, inspiration, and export help fund organizations dedicated to protecting the unique environments of the world. The specimens are exported in a preserved manner to generate some of the financial resources required to maintain conserved land.
Not all of the butterflies bred on these farms are sold as specimens many are released into the wild to mate and maintain healthy species populations. I do not use Monarchs, for instance, because of their specific lifestyle.
While the perfect specimens are used to create whole specimen artwork there are many specimens that are imperfect or damaged, these damaged specimens I purchase to create the winged art and donate to conservation international (www.conservation.org).
With hope and faith these pieces will inspire you and spark your interest in learning a little bit more about the environment, its beauty, and how you can help conserve it.
If you have any questions about my work or the conservation feel free to contact me. Thanks.
