Fitted with wheels and a hitch, a trailer offers the possibility of freedom, flexibility, and adventure. But, more often than not, trailers are not mobile. Their wheels are replaced with cinderblocks and the hitch rusts inoperable. Some acquire front porches and landscaping.

I have yet to resolve my wheels, my love of wandering and change, with the grass; that with stillness, eventually grows up, signaling a switch to cinderblocks. To me, home seems like a place, a collection of people, a past, a future, and the cinderblock I'm sitting on all at once.

This piece was painted near the end of a one year period of travel and transition. It reflects both my desire to savor the next couple of months as a nomad and my readiness to return to my front porch, to sit awhile.

enjoyed creating this for you. thanks for giving me the opportunity.
